Evan Walters V of Emmaus, playing out of the younger 13-to-15 division, had the best score of the day with an 82 in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Chapel Hill Golf Course near Reading Aug. 4th.
Walters had seven pars on his scorecard in putting together a solid round over the par-70 Chapel Hill layout.
Matthew Futuyma of West Bradford and Winston Chew of Exton finished in a tie for second place, each posting a 92. Futuyma made birdies on the first and fourth holes and had two pars on his card. Chew had three pars on his card.
Joshua Kriegel of Lawrenceville, N.J. took fourth place with a 93 and Neil Ray of West Chester rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division as he finished fifth with a 105.
Colin McCabe of Oreland was the lone entry in the 16-to-18 division and he made back-to-back pars on the third and fourth holes on his way to a 114.
The best score among the girls also came out of the 13-to-15 division as Corinne McReynolds of Wayne picked up her second Philly Junior Tour victory in as many days with an 89 at Chapel Hill.
McReynolds, who was a winner a day earlier at Kimberton Golf Club, had eight pars on her scorecard.
Eliza Meersman of Fort Washington had two pars on her card as she rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division with a 92 that earned her runnerup honors.
Hannah Kopac of State College was the lone entry in the 16-to-18 division and she had four pars on her scorecard on her way to a 91.
Rayan Shah, who has been the best of a talented bunch of nine-holers this summer, got off to a good start with a birdie at the first hole and had six pars on his scorecard to finish atop the coed 12-and-under division leaderboard with a 1-over 37.
Jack Sokol of Villanova had four pars on his card as he finished in second place with a 5-over 41. Ethan Meersman of Fort Washington’s Team Meersman had three pars on his card as he finished two shots behind Jack Sokol in third place with a 43.
Henry Sokol, Jack’s twin brother, was a shot behind Ethan Meersman in fourth place with a 44, Zachary Proud of Stroudsburg was fifth with a 45 and Lucas Shank of West Chester was sixth with a 51.
Rounding out the field in the coed 12-and-under division was Vidushi Gupta of Malvern as he finished in seventh place with a 52.
