Zachary Freed of Linwood, N.J. put together a solid 2-over-par 74 at Ramblewood Country Club in Mt. Laurel Township, N.J. to pull out a one-shot Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division July 30th.
Freed made a birdie on the second hole, went back-to-back with birdies at 11 and 12, added a birdie at 15 and had nine pars on his scorecard. The three birdies on Ramblewood’s incoming nine enabled Freed to tour the back in 2-under 34.
Alex Henbest of Manahawkin, N.J. and Jamie Ciesielka of Woolwich Township, N.J. shared second place, each ending up a shot behind Freed with a 3-over 75.
Henbest had an even hotter back nine than Freed did. After making a birdie at the third hole, Henbest added a birdie at 10, rattled off three straight birdies at 14, 15 and 16, and had one more at 18 to complete a sizzling back nine of 4-under 32. Henbest also had seven pars on his card.
Ciesielka made birdies at the fourth, seventh and 11th holes and had nine pars on his card.
Ryan Gibson of Cinnaminson, N.J. took fourth place with a 77 and Luke Daniels of Devon and Drake Brogan of Ocean View, N.J. finished in a tie for fifth, each signing for a 78.
Will Krietsch of Newtown Square took seventh place with a 79 and Lyle Petersen of Clarksboro, N.J. and Christopher Parrish, another Woolwich Township, N.J. entry, shared eighth, each posting an 80.
Ryan Anderson, a Penncrest graduate, rounded out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division as he finished in 10th place with an 82.
Jaxon Piccoli of Berlin, N.J. matched Freed’s 2-over 74 to finish at the top of the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division as Piccoli made a birdie at the 10th hole and had 14 pars on his scorecard, eight of those pars coming on the outgoing nine at Ramblewood.
A couple of entries from Cinnaminson, N.J., Jackson Lane and Tyler Harris, accounted for the next two spots on the 13-to-15 division leaderboard as Jackson Lane earned runnerup honors with a 78 and Harris finished in third place with an 80.
Jackson Lane made birdies at the second and fourth holes and had nine pars on his card. Harris got hot on the front nine with back-to-back birdies at the third and fourth holes and another at six before adding another birdie at 11. Harris finished with four pars on his card.
Jason Leekley of Moorestown, N.J. took fourth place with an 82 and Evan Hahn of Berlin, N.J. and Rayan Shah of Newtown shared fifth, each landing on 83.
Rithvik Nimma of Newtown took seventh place with an 84, Ruben Yoon of Wilmington, Del. was eighth with an 85 and Bradford Bergstrom of Moorestown, N.J. was ninth with an 86.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division were Jordan Stott of West Creek, N.J. and Jack Ferm of Garnet Valley as they finished in a tie for 10th place, each recording an 87.
The best score among the girls emerged from the 13-to-15 division as Madison Cabot of Newtown made birdies at the second, seventh and 12th holes and had three pars on her scorecard to claim a Philly Junior Tour victory with an impressive 7-over 79.
Lillian Flora of Ocean City, N.J. had five pars on her card, four of them on the incoming nine at Ramblewood, as she earned runnerup honors among the younger girls with a 91.
Also making the trip up to Ramblewood from Ocean City was Masey Heenan and she had three pars on her card, all of them on the back nine, to finish in third place with a 100.
Francesca O’Neil of Haddonfield, N.J. rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished in fourth place with a 116.
Emily M. Renouf of Cinnaminson, N.J. and Nicole Tarquinio of Bridgeton, N.J. shared the top spot in the 16-to-18 division as each carded a 100.
Renouf made pars on the third and 13th holes while Tarquinio made pars on the sixth and 11th holes.
Kasey O’Brien of Linwood, N.J. rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as she made pars on the sixth and 14th holes to finish in third place with a 103.
Gavin Lane, another member of Team Lane out of Cinnaminson, N.J., and Grayson McCann of Downingtown finished in a tie for first place among the nine-holers as each tallied a 3-over 39.
Gavin Lane made birdies at the second and fourth holes and had three pars on his scorecard. McCann matched Gavin Lane’s birdie at the second hole and had five pars on his card.
Connor Clayton of Mays Landing, N.J. made a birdie on the third hole and had two pars on his card as he finished in third place with a 46.
Logan Patullo of Moorestown, N.J. took fourth place with a 47 and Mallie Heenan, another member of Team Heenan out of Ocean City, N.J., was another shot behind Patullo in fifth with a 48.
Bradan Boal of Woodbine, N.J. and Emma Cowan, another Moorestown, N.J. entry, rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division as they finished in a tie for sixth place, each posting a 49.
