Pretty sure the high school golf season is under way by now, but Chase Dillman took some momentum into his senior season at Boyertown with some solid showings on the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour.
Dillman matched par with a 71 at Paxon Hollow, the classic layout in the heart of Delaware County in Marple Township, to claim a Philly Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division Aug. 8th. Dillman had finished atop the division of older guys three days earlier when he matched par with a 72 at Brookside Country Club.
Dillman had only one birdie at Paxon Hollow, at the short par-3 second hole, but he was a par machine with 16 of them on his scorecard, including 11 pars in a row to finish out his round beginning at the eighth.
Kieran Gillespie, a junior on the Haverford High golf team, made an early birdie on the fifth hole, then went back-to-back with birdies at 10 and 11 and then back-to-back again with birdies at 16 and 17 as he finished a shot behind Dillman in second place with a 1-over 72. Gillespie had seven pars on his card.
Archbishop Carroll senior Jason DiRita, a Media resident, made birdies at the third, ninth and 16th holes and had 11 pars on her card as he finished a shot behind Gillespie in third place with a 2-over 73.

A couple of Episcopal Academy’s top returnees, sophomore Liam Crowley and junior Freddy Hartmann, had strong showings in the 13-to-15 division at Paxon Hollow.
Crowley, a Wayne resident, finished at the top of the leaderboard among the younger guys as he made a birdie on the 10th hole and had 14 pars on his scorecard, including a string of seven straight pars from the 11th through the 17th holes, on his way to a solid 2-over 73.
Hartmann, a Devon resident who was coming off a victory in the 13-to-15 division three days earlier at Brookside, made birdies at the seventh and 17th holes and had 12 pars on his card as he finished in third place with a 5-over 76.
Quinn Gallagher of Bryn Mawr made a birdie at the sixth hole and had 13 pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 4-over 75 that left him two shots behind Crowley and one ahead of Hartmann.
Charles Ball of West Chester took fourth place with a 77, Kellen Toussant of Lansdale was fifth with a 79 and Henry Sokol of Villanova, coming off Philly Junior Tour victories at Kimberton Golf Club and Woodstone Country Club & Lodge, and Ryan Kelly of Harleysville, finished in a tie for sixth, each signing for an 80.
Patrick Rode, playing close to his Broomall home, and Nicholas Milone of Bryn Mawr, shared eighth place, each recording an 82, and Quinn Reger of Wayne rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he finished 10th with an 83.
Looks like some weather forced the girls 13-to-15 division to be halted after 16 holes, but Agnes Irwin sophomore Anna Rufo had the best round of the day going among the girls as she claimed a Philly Junior Tour victory with an 8-over 72 total.
Rufo, a Gladwyne resident and a product of the junior program at Philadelphia Country Club, made a birdie at third hole and had seven pars on her scorecard.
Vidushi Gupta of Malvern finished a shot behind Rufo in second place with a 9-over 73 total for 16 holes as she made back-to-back birdies at the ninth and 10th holes and had seven pars on her card.
