Jack Luterman of Ardmore, playing out of the younger 13-to-15 division, had the best score of the day, a 7-over 77, as he claimed a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory at Pennsauken Country Club in Pennsauken, N.J. June 28th.
Luterman made back-to-back birdies at the eighth and ninth holes, added another at 18 and had seven pars on his scorecard to finish two shots clear of John Diamond of Philadelphia.
Diamond made a birdie on the 17th hole and had eight pars on his card to earn runnerup honors in the division with a 79.
Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. had 10 pars on his card as he finished a shot behind Diamond in third place with an 80 on a par-70 Pennsauken layout that played tough on a sunny Wednesday.
Jackson Lane of Cinnaminson, N.J. and Ben Mayer of Garnet Valley finished in a tie for fourth place, each posting an 81.
Gus Stoltzfus of Lincoln University took sixth place with an 82, Benjamin Robbins of Holland was seventh with an 83 and Judd Fletcher of Moorestown, N.J. and Noah Taylor of Columbus, N.J. finished in a tie for eighth place, each recording an 84.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division was Chase Gillie of Newtown as he finished alone in 10th place with an 86.
Four players carded an 8-over 78 to finish atop the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division and, when the tiebreakers were sorted out, the Philly Junior Tour victory went to Campbell Swart of Southampton. Swart made birdies at the third and 14th holes and had eight pars on his scorecard.
Runnerup honors went to Alex Henbest of Manahawkin, N.J. as he made back-to-back birdies at the eighth and ninth holes and had nine pars on his card.
Recent Strath Haven graduate Tyler Debusschere finished in third place as his steady round featured a birdie on the 14th hole and 10 pars, including a run of seven straight from the second through the eighth holes. Debusschere capped his scholastic career by earning a trip to the PIAA Class AAA Championship at Penn State last fall.
Luke Canino of Sewell, N.J. settled for a fourth-place finish, although he had the most birdies of the group that carded 78s with birdies at the third, sixth, eighth and 17th holes to go with four pars on his card.
Jake Johnson of Wayne and Archbishop Carroll senior Matthew Hurchalla, like Debusschere a Wallingford resident, finished in a tie for fifth place, each recording a 79. That left six players separated by a shot in a competitive group of older guys.
Hurchallla and Johnson went 1-2, respectively, in a Philly Junior Tour stop at Meadia Heights Golf Club two days earlier.
Liam Shearn of Ardmore took seventh place with an 81 and Ethan Legarda of Voorhees, N.J. was eighth with an 82.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division were two players, Matthew Duphorn of Erial, N.J. and Julian Boyer of Deptford, N.J., who finished in a tie for eighth place, each registering an 83.
The low score among the girls also emerged out of the 13-to-15 division as Katherine Liu of Moorestown, N.J. carded a solid 84 to finish three shots clear of Macai Klein, another Moorestown, N.J. entry.
Liu had seven pars on her scorecard to hold off Klein, who had eight pars on her way to an 87.
Amita Oberoi of Cherry Hill, N.J. took third place with a 102, Michaela Ianieri of Ambler was fourth with a 114 and Masey Heenan of Ocean City, N.J. rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she ended up in fifth with a 123.
Lilly Reagan of Philadelphia made a par on the third hole as she was the lone entry in the 16-to-18 division and registered a 125.
Rayan Shah of Newtown, coming off a victory in a two-day event at Turtle Creek less than a week earlier, bested the field of nine-holers with a 3-over 38. Shah had six pars on his scorecard, including four straight to open his round.
Logan Turner of Berwyn and Harry Mysliwiecz of Doylestown shared runnerup honors, each carding a 41 to finish three shots behind Shah. Turner had four pars on his card and Mysliwiecz had three pars on his card.
Lucas Solano of Vineland, N.J. took fourth place with a 45, Zachary Proud of Stroudsburg was fifth with a 46, Jason Leekley of Moorestown, N.J. was sixth with a 51, Edmond Speitel of Haddonfield, N.J. was seventh with a 52 and Geoffrey Cooper of Erdenheim was eighth with a 54.
Zheng Yan of Malvern took ninth place with a 56, Kunal Khandhar of Moorestown, N.J. was 10th with a 57 and Jin Yan, another member of Malvern’s Team Yan, rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division by finishing 11th with a 61.
