Joiner earns another Philly Junior Tour win with a 72 at Northampton Valley

 

   The low score of the day in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Tuesday at Northampton Valley Country Club in Richboro came out of the 13-to-15 division as Quinten Joiner of Millington, Md. carded a solid 2-over-par 72.

   It was Joiner’s fourth Philly Junior Tour victory in just six starts. His steady round included a birdie on the second hole and 14 pars.

   Thomas Carpenter of Bristol and Jack Luterman of Ardmore shared second place, each finishing three shots behind Joiner with a 5-over 75 over the par-70 Northampton Valley layout.

   Thomas Carpenter made birdies on the sixth and ninth holes and had nine pars on his scorecard. Luterman made birdies on the first, third, 10th and 18th holes and had six pars on his card.

   Quin Zuegner of New Hope finished a shot behind Thomas Carpenter and Luterman in fourth place with a 76 and Benjamin Robbins of Holland and Andrew Carroccio of Newtown Square shared fifth place, each posting a 78.

   Quinn Gallagher of Bryn Mawr took seventh place with an 80, Drake Brogan of Ocean View, N.J. was eighth with an 81 and Chase Gillie of Newtown was ninth with an 82.

   Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division was Ty Sheftic of Blue Bell as he finished alone in 10th place with an 83.

   Will Dunsmore, a PIAA Class AAA qualifier as a junior at Central Bucks East last fall, put together a solid 3-over 73 to finish at the top of the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division.

   Dunsmore made birdies on the fifth and 10th holes and had 12 pars on his scorecard, including a run of seven pars in a row from the 11th to the 17th holes.

   Devin Carpenter of Philadelphia made birdies on the 15th and 17th holes and had nine pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 78.

   Trevor Dendler of Yardley and Liam Gamble of Line Lexington shared third place, each posting an 80. Dendler had eighr pars on card while Gamble made a birdie at the 13th holes and had nine pars on his card.

   Landon Fox of Wilmington, Del., Campbell Swart of Southampton, N.J. and Charlie Mertz of Reading finished in a tie for fifth place, each landing on 82.

   Rounding out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division were three players tied for eighth place at 83, including Ethan Barroway of Cherry Hill, N.J., Vaughn Saltys of Linwood, N.J. and Zach Shragher of Jamison.

   Lola Barnett, who capped an outstanding scholastic career at Archbishop Wood with her second straight trip to the PIAA Class AAA Championship last fall, was the lone competitor in the girls 16-to-18 division and carded a solid 9-over 79.

   Barnett, a three-time Catholic League individual champion who will join the program at Cleveland State later this summer, made birdies at the sixth, 15th and 17th holes and had five pars on her scorecard.

   Freja Jensen of Solebury had eight pars on her scorecard as she earned a Philly Junior Tour win in the 13-to-15 division with a solid 84.

   Lydia Bernardi of Sewell, N.J. made a birdie on the eighth hole and had four pars on her card as she took second place with a 91. Christina St. Pierre of Yardley made a birdie on the seventh hole and had two pars on her card as finished in third place with a 99.

   Rounding out the field in the 13-to-15 division was Mariana Walker, playing close to her Richboro home, as she finished in fourth place with a 110.

   Jack Sokol of Villanova made a birdie at the first hole and had four pars on his scorecard as he bested a typically competitive group of nine-holers with a 3-over 38.

   Ruben Yoon of Wilmington, Del. made a birdie on the eighth hole and had four pars on his card as finished a shot behind Jack Sokol in second place with a 4-over 39.

   Logan Turner of Berwyn and Adam Revness of Yardley were another shot behind Yoon in a tie for third place, each recording a 40. Turner had five pars on his card while Adam Revness had four pars on his card.

   Newtown’s Rayan Shah, who has been the hottest player on the coed 12-and-under scene, took fifth place with a 41, Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg was sixth with a 42, Henry Sokol, another member of Villanova’s Team Sokol, was seventh with a 43, and Max Davis of Newtown Square was eighth with a 45.

   Ben Revness, another member of Yardley’s Team Revness, took ninth place with a 46, and Ryan Dungan of Warrington rounded out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division as he finished in 10th place with a 48.
