Dane Mohap of Nazareth capped a busy week of Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour action July 29th with his fourth victory of the week among the nine-holers in a stop at Susquehanna Valley Country Club in Selinsgrove.
Mohap capped his round with a birdie at the ninth hole and had four pars on his scorecard on his way to a 4-over-par 39 that gave him a 10-shot victory over the field in the coed 12-and-under division.
Mohap began his week with a victory at Raven’s Claw Golf Club in Limerick July 25th, then shared medalist honors close to home at Northampton Valley Country July 26th and headed to South Jersey and earned a share of the top spot at Running Deer Golf Club July 27th before going west for his final win of the week two days later at Susquehanna Valley.
Zachary Proud of Stroudsburg was the runnerup among the nine-holers as he had two pars on his card in posting a 49. Joseph Walsh of Hershey made a par at the first hole on his way to a third-place finish with a 51.
William Hanrahan of State College was a shot behind Walsh in fourth place with a 52. Rounding out the field in the coed 12-and-under division was Raegan Young of Middletown with a 62 and a fifth-place finish.
Another member of Stroudsburg’s Team Proud, Anthony Proud, had the best score of the day among the 18-hole boys divisions as he made birdies at the ninth and 16th holes and had 12 pars on his scorecard in a steady 4-over 74 over the par-70 Susquehanna Valley layout that gave him the win in the 13-to-15 division.
Gus Wolfe of Downingtown made a birdie at the par-4 seventh hole and had six pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 90.
James Schramek of Chalfont and Austin Felton of Carlisle finished in a tie for third place, each signing for a 94. Schramek and Felton both birdied the first hole with Schramek adding a par at 10 and Felton registering three pars on Susquehanna Valley’s incoming nine.
Rounding out the field in the 13-to-15 division was Max Miller of Hershey as he recorded a 101 to finish in fifth place.
A couple of Selinsgrove guys playing close to home, Michael Felty and Sam Wetmiller, finished 1-2, respectively, at the top of the 16-to-18 leaderboard.
Felty made a birdie at the 14th hole and had eight pars on his scorecard as he earned a Philly Junior Tour victory with a 7-over 77.
Wetmiller, a PIAA Class AAA qualifier as a junior at Selinsgrove last fall, made birdies at the sixth, eighth and 17th holes and had seven pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a solid 79.
Rounding out the field in the 16-to-18 division were a couple of State College guys as Solomon Liebert and Joseph Sabol finished in a tie for third place, each carding an 81. Liebert made a birdie at the eighth hole and had eight pars on his card and Sabol made birdies at six and 14 and had seven pars on his card.
