I’ve got some serious catching up to do on my Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour roundups, starting with …
Conestoga senior Kyle Mauro got it going in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Raven’s Claw Golf Club in Limerick July 25th, carding a 1-under-par 70 to cruise to a four-shot victory in the 16-to-18 division.
Kyle Mauro made back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes while posting a 2-under 34 on the outgoing nine at Raven’s Claw, which played host to an Epson Tour (then called the Symetra Tour) event for LPGA Tour hopefuls in 2018 and 2019. Kyle Mauro added a birdie at the 12th hole and then ripped off three more in a row at 14, 15 and 16 to keep it in red figures for the round. Kyle Mauro had eight pars on his scorecard.
Recent Owen J. Roberts graduate Victor Mominey and Hill School senior Lucas Steinmetz finished in a tie for second place, each ending up four shots behind Kyle Mauro with a 3-over 74.
Mominey made birdies at the first, fourth and ninth holes while putting together a 1-under 35 on the front nine at Raven’s Claw. He had nine pars on his card. Steinmetz had a birdie on the second hole and had 13 pars on his card in a steady round.
Harriton senior Cyrus Parvizi was another shot behind Mominey and Steinmetz in fourth place with a 4-over 75.
Michael Deussing of Solebury took fifth place with a 76 and Gavin Schroeder of Bensalem was sixth with a 78.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division field were five players tied for seventh place at 79, including Harriton junior Jack Gallagher, Twin Valley senior Shayne O’Doherty, Gavin Dirkes of Berwyn, Zach Holmlund of Fort Washington and Jacob Dommel of Telford. O’Doherty’s been doing some looping at Stonewall this summer and I was out with him a couple days after his solid showing at Raven’s Claw.
Nolan Corcoran of Lansdale made birdies at the second, 12th and 18th holes and had 10 pars on his scorecard to finish atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division with a 4-over 75.
Dean Kaiser of Bryn Mawr and Lannon Boyd of Radnor shared runnerup honors, each finishing four shots behind Corcoran with a 79. Kaiser opened his round with a birdie at the first hole and had nine pars on his card. Boyd opened with an eagle on Raven’s Claw’s par-5 first hole, made birdies at the fifth and seventh holes and had eight pars on his card.
Boyertown sophomore Chase Dillman and Liam McFadden of Bryn Mawr shared fourth place, each signing for an 81. Zach Mauro of Berwyn’s Team Mauro finished alone in sixth place with an 82.

Matthew Sanderson of Newtown took ninth place with an 85 and Justin Marcus of Glenmoore rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he finished alone in 10th place with an 86.
Rhianna Gooneratne, who capped her freshman season at Plymouth-Whitemarsh last fall by earning a trip to the PIAA Class AAA Championship at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York County, had 16 pars on her scorecard as she had the best score of the day among the girls at Raven’s Claw, a 2-over 73, to claim top honors in the 13-to-15 division.
Gooneratne was the Philly Junior Tour’s Player of the Year in the 13-to-15 division during the wraparound 2019-2020 season.
Alyssa Schuebel of King of Prussia made a birdie on the 12th hole and had five pars on her card as she finished in second place with a 95.
Caitlyn Monestere of Downingtown made a par on the third hole as she rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division by taking third place with a 115.
Two more members of King of Prussia’s Team Schuebel had a 1-2 finish in the 16-to-18 division.
Audrey Schuebel made birdies at the fourth and eighth holes and had eight pars on her card as she earned the victory among the older girls with a solid 78. Amanda Schuebel had six pars on her card as she was the runnerup with a 91.
Clare Farrington of Doylestown rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she made a pair of pars on her way to a 118 that left her in third place.
Dane Mohap of Nazareth birdied the first hole and had five pars on his scorecard as his 4-over 40 bested the field of nine-holers for his 12th Philly Junior Tour victory of the season.
