Something about Paxon Hollow Country Club in Marple Township that seems to fit the eye of Springfield senior Danny Flaherty.
A year ago, Flaherty ripped off six birdies on his way to a 4-under-par 67 at Paxon Hollow that gave him a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory. A little over a month later, Flaherty claimed the Central League’s individual crown with an even-par 72 at Turtle Creek Golf Course.
Well, for the second straight summer, Flaherty signaled that his game is ready for the scholastic season to come as he carded a 3-under 68 Aug. 10th at Paxon Hollow to again finish atop the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division of a Philly Junior Tour stop.
This was a steadier round at Paxon Hollow for Flaherty, but he still made four birdies at the fifth, seventh, 10th and 17th holes. Flaherty has 13 pars on his scorecard with seven of them on the incoming nine on which he posted a sparkling 2-under 34.

Looks like the Golf Genius program has started to filter out the hometowns and graduation years from its results, so I might not be referencing them as much, but I’ll still try to keep up with the high school affiliations when I know them.
