Frisk's sparkling 67 gives him a Junior Tour win at Heritage Hills

Karl Frisk of Spring Grove fired a sparkling 4-under-par 67, easily the best round of the day, to capture a win in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort in Springettsbury Township, York County Saturday.
Frisk made five birdies and just one bogey over the 6,312-yard, par-71 Heritage Hills layout, which will play host to the PIAA Championship next week. The five birdies are impressive, but making it through the tricky Heritage Hills course with just one bogey might be just as difficult a feat.
Brett Ostroski of Shavertown had four birdies, including three on the front nine, to finish alone in second at 1-over 72. Norristown freshman Joshua Ryan also had four birdies to take third at 2-over 73.
Ryan did earn low-Ryan honors by two shots over older brother Caleb, a junior at Norristown who finished third in the 16-to-18 division with a 4-over 75.
The Ryan brothers are both still in with a shot to make the field for the PIAA Championship. They’ll be in the field Monday at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Berks County for the PIAA East Regional.
Caleb Ryan is coming off a solid fourth-place finish in the District One Class AAA Championship last week with a 3-under 141 total at Turtle Creek Golf Club. Joshua Ryan birdied the first hole of a playoff to earn a ticket to Golden Oaks after finishing tied for 13th at  the Turtle at 1-over 145.
Caleb Ryan reached the PIAA Championship as a sophomore a year ago and finished tied for 23rd at 160. Pretty sure he’d like to get a chance to do better than that this year.
William Pabst of Roaring Brook Township finished fourth, two shots behind Caleb Ryan at 4-over 75.  Logan Paczewski of Dallas was another shot behind Pabst in fifth at 5-over 76. John Bradbeer of Bryn Mawr took sixth with a 78 and John Olsen of Boalsburg was seventh with a 79.
Derek McGlaughlin of Elizabethtown and Hamilton McNaughton of Lancaster finished tied for eighth, each carding an 82. Sawyer Marten of East Petersburg rounded out the top 10 with an 83.
Souderton High’s Thomas Butler fired a 2-over 73 to take top honors in the 16-to-18 division. Butler had three birdies in a front-nine 34 at Heritage Hills. Brett Wagner of Cresco was a shot behind Butler in second with a 3-over 74 that included a birdie at the par-5 11th.
Caleb Ryan took third with his 75 followed in fourth by Nikita Romanov of Wilmington, Del., the Junior Tour’s 13-to-15 Player of the Year in 2016 who posted a 78.
Shane Angle of Mountain Top finished fifth with a 79, Jack Hamilton of West Chester was sixth with an 80, Jackson Stinebaugh of New York City was seventh with an 81 and Ryan Woelfling of Myerstown was eighth with an 85.
Russell McPaul finished ninth with an 86, Bobby Lugiano of Shavertown was 10th with a 92 and Aiden Fissel of Spring Grove was 11th with a 95.
Christina Carroll of Bear, Del. fired a 93 to win the girls 16-to-18 division, her second victory of the fall portion of the Junior Tour schedule. Helen Shaw of Harleysville was the runnerup with a 97.
Jessica McClellan of Freeland took third with a 98 and Alexandra Schaffer of Lancaster was  fourth with a 112.
Kaitlyn Ferrer took top honors in the 13-to-15 division with a 116, adding the win to her victory last week at Heidelberg Country Club. Lillian McNally of York was a shot behind Ferrer in second at 117.
Nathan Guertler of Merchantville, N.J. claimed his first Junior Tour win of the season, besting the field of nine-holers with an 11-over 47. Luke Barbour of Etters was the runnerup with a 49.
Stefania Fedun of Glenmoore finished third with a 50 and Nicholas Hickman of Lincoln University was fourth with a 59.
