Owen Wise of Downingtown put together a solid 7-over-par 79 at Berkleigh Country Club in Kutztown, Berks County to finish first in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop on a spectacular fall Saturday.
Wise went back-to-back with birdies at the 11th and 12th holes and had nine pars on his scorecard, seven of them on the outgoing nine at Berkleigh, on his way to the victory.
Rishabh Jupudi of Philadelphia had 10 pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with an 83. Jakob Chapman of Honey Brook rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he had three pars on his card while posting a 97 to finish in third place.
Colby Komancheck of Royersford had eight pars on his scorecard as he claimed the top spot in the 13-to-15 division with an 83.
Ian Larsen of Glenmoore and Joseph Gangemi Jr. of Downingtown shared runnerup honors as each signed for a 90. Larsen had four pars on his card while Gangemi finished with six pars.
Avery O’Neill of Romansville took fourth place with a 95 and Vyom Shukla of Berwyn rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as he finished in fifth place with a 97.
Brooke Graham, who capped an outstanding scholastic career at Boiling Springs earlier this month with a fifth-place finish in the PIAA Class AA Championship at Penn State’s Blue Course, made a birdie on the 14th hole and had nine pars on her scorecard to capture a Philly Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 victory. Graham was a four-time PIAA Class AA qualifier.
Jiayin Ou of Pottstown finished her round with a par on the 18th hole as she rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division by claiming runnerup honors with a 105.
Jillian Burks of Paoli had seven pars on her scorecard as she edged Sophia Branca of Warrington by a shot to finish atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division with an 88. Burks took fifth place in the Girls 10-11 Division in the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club in the spring of 2021.
Branca made birdies on the first and fourth holes and had four pars on her card as she rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division by earning runnerup honors with an 89.
Dane Mohap of Nazareth and Ian Rotto of Kennett Square have been going back and forth among the nine-holers, particularly in the fall portion of the Philly Junior Tour schedule.
This time, it was Mohap who prevailed as he made birdies on the first, seventh and ninth holes and had four pars on his scorecard in a sparkling 1-under 34.
Rotto made a birdie on the ninth hole and had two pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 6-over 41. Henry Sokol of Villanova had two pars on his card as he finished in third place, a shot behind Rotto with a 42.
Another member of Villanova’s Team Sokol, Jack Sokol, and Joseph Walsh of Hershey rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division as they finished in a tie for fourth place, each recording a 48.
