Germantown Academy junior Ajeet Bagga matched par with a 72 on a perfect fall Saturday at Garrisons Lake Golf Club in Smyrna, Del. to finish atop the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division and claim a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory.
Bagga, who has been one of the Inter-Ac League’s leading performers during the ongoing fall season, made a birdie on the fifth hole, went back-to-back with birdies at 12 and 13 and had 12 pars on his scorecard, including four straight to finish his round.
Evan Gebhart of Magnolia, Del. finished strong, going 1-under for his last eight holes with seven pars and a birdie on the 13th hole as he earned runnerup honors with a 5-over 77 over the par-72 Garrisons Lake layout. Gebhart finished with 12 pars overall on his card.
Rudy Mench of Wilmington, Del. made birdies at the third and 16th holes and had five pars on his card as he finished alone in third place with an 81.
Caleb Bennett of Pitman, N.J. took fourth place with an 83, Joshua Freeman of Middletown, Del. was fifth with an 86 and Jimmy Campbell of Wilmington, Del. was sixth with an 89.
Zachery Whittaker, another Middletown, Del. entry, rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he finished in seventh place with a 116.
Michael Liu of Garnet Valley went 1-under on the incoming nine at Garrisons Lake as he had the second-best score overall in the boys divisions with a 1-over 73 that gave him a victory in the 13-to-15 division. Liu made birdies on the third, sixth and 15th holes and had 12 pars on his scorecard, including a stretch of eight in a row from the seventh through the 14th holes.
Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. made a birdie on the 17th hole and had 10 pars on his card as he finished in second place with an 80. Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, N.J. had eight pars on his card as he finished in third place with an 85.
Mason Wiener of Holland and Jacob Gabbard of Lewes, Del. shared fourth place, each signing for an 86, Brendan Schott of Wilmington, Del. was sixth with an 87, Gabriel Abalos of Washington Township, N.J. was seventh with a 93 and Andrew Bradshaw of Moorestown, N.J. was eighth with a 95.
Henry Nowak of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as he finished in ninth place with a 98.
The best score among the girls at Garrisons Lake emerged from the 13-to-15 division as Danielle Higbee of Mickleton, N.J. made an eagle on the par-5 12th hole, a birdie on six and had eight pars on her scorecard on her way to solid 6-over 78.
Caesar Rodney sophomore Reagan Garnsey had nine pars on her card as she earned runnerup honors with an 81. Katherine Liu of Moorestown, N.J. made a birdie on the fourth hole and had 10 pars on her card as she finished a shot behind Garnsey in third place with an 82.
Jillian Burks of Paoli took fourth place with an 84, Sarah Stumacher of Gladwyne was fifth with an 85 and Kylie Yienst of Wyoming, Del. was sixth with a 91.
Kasey O’Brien of Linwood, N.J. rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished in seventh place with a 101.
Sophia DeSantis of Glen Mills was the lone entry in the 16-to-18 division and made a birdie on the sixth hole and had four pars on her card while posting an 89.
Benjamin Allwein of Annville claimed the victory among the nine-holers as he won a scorecard playoff with Dane Mohap of Nazareth, each carding a solid 1-over 37. Allwein made a birdie on the eighth hole and had six pars on his scorecard, going 1-under over his last seven holes.
Mohap, the dominant player in the coed 12-and-under division in the 2022 season, made a birdie on the sixth hole and had six pars on his card. Ian Rotto of Kennett Square had four pars on his card as he finished in third place with a 41.
Ruben Yoon of Magnolia, Del. took fourth place with a 43, Jefferson Allwein, another member of Annville’s Team Allwein, was fifth with a 48 and Walter Wang of Hockessin, Del. and James Gannon of Doylestown rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division as they finished in a tie for sixth place, each recording a 61.
