Germantown Academy junior Ajeet Bagga tuned up for the Bert Linton Inter-Ac League individual championship by capturing a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory with a 1-under-par 69 in a stop at Spring Hollow Golf Club in Spring City Sunday.
Eight days earlier, Bagga claimed a win in the 16-to-18 division of a Philly Junior Tour stop at Garrisons Lake Golf Club. He proceeded to take medalist honors in Germantown Academy’s final two Inter-Ac invitationals last week at Sunnybrook Golf Club and The 1912 Club to nail down first place in the league’s regular-season points race.
All of which makes Bagga one of the favorites when he tees it up Wednesday at Llanerch Country Club in the Bert Linton Inter-Ac individual championship. Bagga helped the Patriots finish second behind Inter-Ac champion Malvern Prep in the team chase.
Bagga got off to a fast start at the par-70 Spring Hollow layout with birdies at the first two holes and another at six on his way to a 1-under 34 on the outgoing nine. He added birdies at the 13th and 15th holes on the incoming nine and finished with 10 pars on his scorecard overall.
