Sieben wins at Merchantville, Mack claims top spot at Flourtown in Junior Tour Nine-Hole Series stops

The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour ramped up its Nine-Hole Series with back-to-back events for the coed 12-and-under division Thursday at Merchantville Country Club in Cherry Hill, N.J. and Friday at Flourtown Country Club in Flourtown, a couple of pretty sweet nine-hole layouts. Sure, it was hot, but they’re young and they were only playing nine holes … for now.

Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. earned his second straight Junior Tour victory Thursday at Merchantville as he birdied the eighth hole and had three pars, including one at the closing hole, for a 6-over-par 42.

A day earlier, Sieben bested the field of nine-holers in a Junior Tour stop at Medford Lakes Country Club.

Katherine Liu of Moorestown, N.J. birdied the fourth hole and had a pair of pars as she earned runnerup honors with a 46. Giulia Weisser of Reading birdied the fifth hole and had two pars as she took third place with a 48.

Onyu Park of Blue Bell and Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, N.J. finished in a tie for fourth place, each posting a 49. Adriana Seravalli of Philadelphia took sixth place with a 52 and a couple of Moorestown, N.J. players, Judd Fletcher and Jack Forstein, finished seventh and eighth with respective scores of 52 and 56.

Anthony Beach of Westville, N.J. ended up in ninth place with a 65 and Mayson Whitmoyer-Hussein of Williamstown, N.J. rounded out the top 10, finishing alone in 10th place with a 71.

In Friday’s Nine-Hole Series stop at the 2,484-yard, par-35 Flourtown layout, three of the top players in the coed 12-and-under division since the spring portion of the wraparound 2020-2021 season teed off in March battled it out.

Jason Mack of Delaware Water Gap birdied the eighth hole and had seven pars, including four straight from the fourth through the seventh holes, to claim a Junior Tour victory with an even-par 35.

Anthony Proud of Stroudsburg made birdies at the second and ninth holes and had four pars as he finished a shot behind Mack in second place with a 1-over 36. Lawson Leeper of York had six pars, opening his round with four pars in a row, as he finished two shots behind Proud in third place with a 3-over 38.

Luka Fedlukov of Downingtown took fourth place with a 40 and Sebastian Park of Lansdale and Ian Larsen of Glenmoore were another shot behind Fedlukov in a tie for fifth place, each signing for a 41.

Sieben, the winner a day earlier at Merchantville, finished alone in seventh place with a 42. Callahan Harrell of York and Wyatt Underwood of Telford shared eighth place, each registering a 43. Alex DiGiacinto of Nazareth rounded out the top 10 as he finished alone in 10th place with a 44.
