Spring-Ford junior Luke Fazio and Conor Watson each put together a solid 7-over-par 78 on a steamy Tuesday in the Lehigh Valley as they shared the top spot in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Southmoore Golf Course in Bath.
Fazio had a steady round that included a birdie at the 11th hole and 10 pars while Watson birdied the eighth and 11th holes and had nine pars, including five straight from the second through the sixth holes.
Kyle Langan of Shavertown finished a shot behind Fazio and Watson in third place with a 79 over the 6,165-yard, par-71 Southmoore layout that featured 10 pars.
Noah Moeller of Doylestown and Aiden Greenberg of Nazareth shared fourth place, each posting an 80. Joshua Hiles of Boiling Springs was another shot behind Moeller and Greenberg in sixth place with an 81.
Bryson Hicklin of Nazareth ad Aaron Skii of West Chester shared seventh place, each registering an 82 and Brant Bomberger of Lititz and Ethan Cho of Ambler rounded out the top 10 among the older guys as they finished in a tie for ninth place, each landing on 83.
Macade Knoblauch of Pottstown birdied the eighth and 11th holes and had seven pars on his scorecard as he finished atop the 13-to-15 leaderboard with an 80. Nolan Corcoran of Lansdale made birdies at the 13th and 18th holes and had four pars as he claimed runnerup honors with an 83.
Michael Liu of Garnet Valley had five pars as he carded a 90 to finish in third place.
A couple of Swarthmore guys, Matthew Caputo and Davis Fairbanks, rounded out the 13-to-15 field as Caputo took fourth place with a 93 and Fairbanks was fifth with a 94.
The best score among the girls emerged from the younger 13-to-15 division as Natalie White of Bangor had three pars on her way to a 91 that gave her a Junior Tour victory.
Kaitlyn Hummers of Bethlehem rounded out the 13-to-15 field as she earned runnerup honors with a 104 that included a pair of pars on the front nine at Southmoore.
Madison Salter of Walnutport had three pars on her way to a 92 that gave her the top spot in the 16-to-18 division. Suzie Ahn of Paoli had three pars, all on Southmoore’s outgoing nine, as she was a shot behind Salter in second place with a 93.
Koerthana Rajamohan of Limerick rounded out the 16-to-18 division field as she had two pars, one on each side, on her way to a 98 that left her in third place.
Anthony Proud of Stroudsburg, who has been playing solid golf throughout the spring and early summer, had seven pars, including four straight from the third through the sixth holes, on his way to a 3-over 39 that bested the field of nine-holers.
Alex DiGiacinto of Nazareth had two pars and Carson Sakuc of Newtown Square parred the third hole as each signed for a 46 to share second place.
Holden Sparks of Nazareth took fourth place with a 47, Sebastian Park of Lansdale was fifth with a 49, Zachary Proud, another member of Stroudsburg’s Team Proud, was sixth with a 52 and Ryan Kelly of Harleysville rounded out the coed 12-and-under division field as he registered a 55 to finish seventh.
