Colton Murray of Sewell, N.J. and Logan Hay of Bordentown, N.J. each made a late birdie as they finished tied atop the 16-to-18 division leaderboard in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior stop at Indian Creek Golf Club in Marlton, N.J. Friday.
Murray made a birdie on the 18th hole and Hay birdied the 17th as each finished up with a 6-over-par 76 over the par-70 Indian Spring layout.
Radnor High senior Rishi Khanna birdied the 15th hole and Noah Petrucci of Atco, N.J. had 13 pars on his scorecard as they shared third place, each landing on 78. Matthew Pulcinella of Chadds Ford finished alone in fifth place with an 81.
Lower Merion senior Adam Chen, Ethan Finkelstein, who wrapped up his scholastic career at Pennsbury last fall, and Sean Walker of Haddonfield, N.J. each posted an 83 and ended up in a tie for sixth place.
Michael Schafer of Ardmore took ninth place with an 85 and Stephen Cain of Yardley rounded out the top 10 as he finished alone in 10th with an 86.
Matthew Normand of Lumberton, N.J. matched the low score of the day among the boys as he toured the front nine at Indian Spring in even-par 35 on his way to a 6-over 76 that gave him the top spot in the 13-to-15 division.
Nathan Guertler of Merchantville, N.J., Ajeet Bagga of Blue Bell and Joseph Fabian of Manahawkin, N.J. all shared runnerup honors as each signed for a 78. Guertler was coming off a victory in the rain in Thursday’s stop at Rock Manor Golf Club.
Charles Ota, another Blue Bell entry, finished alone in fifth place with a 79, Quinton Heljenek of Glenside was sixth with an 81 and Rajan Khanna, another member of Bryn Mawr’s Team Khanna, was seventh with an 83.
Carson Thompson of Mount Laurel, N.J. and Brady Manning of Downingtown finished in a tie for eighth place, each posting an 84. Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. rounded out the top 10, ending up alone in 10th place with an 85.
The lowest score among the girls at Indian Spring came from the younger 13-to-15 age group as Blue Bell’s Team Bagga had a 1-2 finish.
Serena Bagga, who played on the boys team at Germantown Academy as a freshman last fall, had a solid 6-over 41 on the front nine as she finished atop the division with an 85. Kiran Bagga had two pars on the front nine as she claimed runnerup honors with a 96.
Hannah Puc of Marlton, N.J. took third place with a 100 that included a solid 49 on the back nine.
Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. made five pars as she captured her second straight victory in the 16-to-18 division with an 89. Strigh finished atop the leaderboard among the older girls in Thursday’s stop at Rock Manor.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy senior Emma Schotsch put together a solid back-nine 44 on her way to runnerup honors with a 95. Sophia Chesner of Moorestown, N.J. birdied the first hole as she finished in third place with a 98.
Skye Mada of Cherry Hill, N.J. rounded out the 16-to-18 field as she took fourth place with a 104.
Jackson Lane of Cinnaminson, N.J. had three pars and Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. birdied the ninth hole as they shared the top spot in the field of nine-holers, each carding a 6-over 41. Jack Forstein of Moorestown, N.J. had three pars as he finished in third place with a 44.
Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, N.J. took fourth place with a 45 and Anthony Primo, playing close to his Marlton, N.J. home, and Ravi Khanna, a third member of Bryn Mawr’s Team Khanna, shared fifth place, each landing on 46.
Thomas Carpenter of Bristol finished in seventh place with a 52. Rounding out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division were three players – Michael Liu of Garnet Valley and a couple of Moorestown, N.J. entries, Saleem Kazmi and Chloe Donohue – who finished in a tie for eighth place, each carding a 56.
