Brayden Schnabel, a senior on the Souderton golf team, and Henry Sokol of Villanova each carded a 1-over-par 72 at Linfield National Golf Club in western Montgomery County Saturday as each claimed a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in his respective division.
Schnabel got hot on the outgoing nine at Linfield National, making a birdie at the second hole and going back-to-back with birdies at seven and eight while touring the front nine in 3-under 32.
Schnabel added another birdie on the 17th hole and had nine pars on his scorecard as he finished at the top of the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division.
Henry Sokol started fast with back-to-back birdies at the second and third holes and added an eagle at the par-5 12th. He had 12 pars on his card, including six straight pars to finish out his round while touring the incoming nine in 2-under 34.
It left the reigning Graham Company Player of the Year in the 13-to-15 division atop the leaderboard in that division at Linfield National.
Paul O’Malley, a junior on the Methacton golf team, and John McCarthy, a senior on the Upper Merion golf team, finished in a tie for second place among the older guys, each tallying a 5-over 76.
O’Malley made a birdie on the 15th hole and had 11 pars on his card while McCarthy made an eagle on the par-5 second hole, added birdies at three and 15 and had seven pars on his card.
Joey Bilotta, a senior on the Boyertown golf team, took fourth place with a 6-over 77, Luke Farnese, a senior on the Plymouth-Whitemarsh golf team was fifth with a 78, Adrian Ciavarelli, a senior on the Penncrest golf team was sixth with a 79 and Brody Calle, a senior on the Owen J. Roberts golf team, finished seventh with an 80.
Jack McPeak, a senior on the Upper Moreland golf team, and Dylan Campion of Bala Cynwyd shared eighth place, each signing for an 82 and Will Antik of Newtown Square rounded out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division as he finished 10th with an 83.
Max Berish, a junior on the Owen J. Roberts golf team, finished just a shot behind Henry Sokol in second place in the 13-to-15 division with a 2-over 73.
Berish made back-to-back birdies at the second and third holes, added another birdie at eight and had 10 pars on his scorecard, including a string of eight straight pars from nine through 16.
Mason Kim of Blue Bell was another two shots behind Berish in third place with a 4-over 75 as Kim made a birdie on the seconds hole and had 12 pars on his card, including a run of five straight pars from three through seven.
Jack Sokol, Henry Sokol’s twin brother, took fourth place with a 79, Vaughn Smartt of Bryn Mawr was fifth with an 82, Carson McNamee of Harleysville was sixth with an 83 and Sy Kavitsky, a sophomore on the Neshaminy golf team, finished seventh with an 87.
Ryan Vedock, a freshman on the Christopher Dock golf team and a Barto resident, and Reed Starzecki of Bryn Mawr shared eighth place, each registering a 92 and Benjamin Gangemi of Downingtown rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he finished 10th with a 94.
Another member of Downingtown’s Team Gangemi, Emma Gangemi, a sophomore on the Downingtown East golf team, had the best score among the girls, finishing at the top of the leaderboard in the girls 13-to-15 division with an 83.
Emma Gangemi made a birdie on the second hole and had eight pars on her scorecard.
Addison Murphy of Phoenixville had seven pars on her card as she earned runnerup honors with a 92.
Mackenzie Lim of Harleysville made a par on the 10th hole as she finished in third place with a 104.
Antonella Ferrer of Wynnewood rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished in fourth place with a 109.
Hadley Stetson of Newtown Square and Lanta Chanthakad, a senior on the Conestoga golf team, shared the top spot in the 16-to-18 division as each tallied a solid 88.
Stetson had six pars on her scorecard while Chanthakad made a birdie on the second hole and had six pars on her card.
Fortress Chryst of Wescosville made pars on the third and 10th holes as she rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division by finishing in third place with a 107.
Really impressive performance by Helmut Dang of Newtown Square in claiming his 10th victory of the year with a 3-under 32 that bested the field of boys 12-and-under nine-holers.
Dang made an eagle at the par-5 second hole, added birdies at six and eight and had five pars on his scorecard.
Damien Dollard of Cinnaminson, N.J. made a birdie on the second hole and had four pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 3-over 38.
Typical of the kind of competitive balance the boys 12-and-under division has seen throughout 2025, three players, Declan Mayo of Chadds Ford, Joey Charpentier of Schwenksville and Jack Gilbert of Bryn Mawr, finished in a tie for third place, each ending up a shot behind Dollard with a 4-over 39.
Mayo made a birdie on the second hole and had four pars on his card, Charpentier had five pars on his card and Gilbert made a birdie at two and had four pars on his card, including three straight pars to close out his round.
Niko Muego of Bryn Mawr and Connor Masulis of Pottstown shared sixth place, each posting a 40 and Ryan Kaye of Lansdale and Victor Wang of Hockessin, Del. finished in a tie for eighth, each registering a 41.
Rounding out the top 10 in the boys 12-and-under division were Charlie Sears of Wilmington, Del. and James Schneider of Penn Valley as they finished in a tie for 10th place, each recording a 43.
Addison Sabatini bested the field of girls 12-and-under nine-holers with a 55.
Miya Freas of Collegeville and Sydney Lim, another member of Harleysville’s Team Lim, rounded out the field in the girls 12-and-under division as they finished in a tie for second place, each carding a 55.
