For the second day in a row, Logan Turner of Berwyn got it in red figures with a sparkling 2-under-par 69 at the Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro, N.J. as he claimed the top spot in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop July 25th.
A day earlier, Turner had the best score among the guys in a Philly Junior Tour stop at The Bucks Club in Jamison on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River with a 1-under 69.
At Rancocas, Turner got off to a good start with birdies at the first and fourth holes and then added birdies at 15, 17 and 18 in a 2-under 34 tour of the incoming nine. He also had 10 pars on his scorecard, including a run of six straight pars from the fifth through the 10th holes.
Henry Sokol of Villanova had 14 pars on his card, including six straight pars to finish up his round, as he earned runnerup honors with a 5-over 76 that left him seven shots behind a red-hot Turner.
Henry Sokol had finished in third place behind Turner a day earlier at The Bucks Club.
Nicholas Milone of Bryn Mawr made a birdie on the seventh hole and had 11 pars on his card, including five straight pars to close out his round, as he finished a shot behind Henry Sokol in third place with a 77.
Henry Sokol’s twin brother Jack Sokol shared fourth place with a trio of players that included Jason Leekley of Moorestown, N.J., Brody Campbell of Plymouth Meeting and Owen Ciesielka, an incoming freshman at Malvern Prep from West Chester, as they all tallied a 79.
Lucas Shank, another West Chester entry, took eighth place with an 80, William Thorkelson of Bryn Mawr was ninth with an 81 and Jack Forstein, another Moorestown, N.J. entry, rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he finished 10th with an 82.
Ravi Gohel of Mount Laurel, N.J. made a birdie on the 10th hole and had 14 pars on his scorecard, including six straight pars to close out his round, as he finished at the top of the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division with a 2-over 73.
Niklas Skjeveland, a senior on the roster of perennial Catholic League power La Salle and a Jamison resident, made birdies at the fourth and eighth holes and had 12 pars on his card, finishing his round with five straight pars, as he earned runnerup honors among the older guys with a 3-over 75 that left him two shots behind Gohel.
Nathan Goblirsch of Hammonton, N.J. closed out his round with a birdie at the 18th hole and had 10 pars on his card as he finished five shots behind Skjeveland in third place with an 80.
Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J., the Philly Junior Tour Player of the Year in the 13-to-15 division in 2023, continues to play solid golf as he finished in fourth place with an 81.
Chase Adomaitis of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. took fifth place with an 82, Robert Stout of Trenton, N.J. was sixth with an 83, Vyom Shukla of Berwyn was seventh with an 85, Joshua Kriegel of Lawrenceville, N.J. was eighth with an 88 and David Watts of Haddonfield, N.J. was ninth with a 90.
Jordan Stott of West Creek, N.J. rounded out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division as he finished in 10th place with a 93.
Brianna Stwalley, a sophomore on the Central Bucks West golf team, made a birdie on the fourth hole and had two pars on her scorecard to claim a Philly Junior Tour victory in the girls 13-to-15 division with a 93.
Stwalley was coming off a strong showing a day earlier at The Bucks Club, where she earned runnerup honors.
Naaya Patel of Moorestown, N.J. rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division as she had three pars on her card on her way to a 102 that gave her a second-place finish.
Jack Gilbert of Bryn Mawr and Bobby Stefanski of Newtown Square shared the top spot among the boys 12-and-under nine-holers a day earlier at The Bucks Club.
At the Rancocas Club, Gilbert made a birdie at the sixth hole and had six pars on his scorecard, including five straight pars to open his round, as he bested the field of boys 12-and-under nine-holers with a 1-over 36 while Stefanski was part of a foursome tied for second place, three shots behind Gilbert, each landing on 4-over 39.
Stefanski had five pars on his card, including a string of four straight pars from the third through the sixth holes.
Joining Stefanski at 4-over were Declan Mayo of Chadds Ford, Damien Dollard of Cinnaminson, N.J. and Aiden Jose of Brick, N.J.
Mayo had five pars on his card, including a string of four straight pars from the third through the sixth holes. Dollard, who rattled off three straight wins earlier in the week at Laurel Creek Country Club, Ramblewood Country Club and Raven’s Claw Golf Club, made a birdie on the second hole and closed out his round with four straight pars. Jose made a birdie on the fourth hole and had three pars on his card.
Samuel Karas of Blue Bell took sixth place with a 41 and the trio of Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg, Niko Muego of Bryn Mawr and Michael Perry of Wilmington, Del. finished in a tie for seventh place, each signing for a 43.
Matthew Bowman of Newtown took 10th place with a 45 and Aiden Cooper of Moorestown, N.J. rounded out the field in the boys 12-and-under division as he finished 11th with a 51.
Mia DeCarlo of Glen Mills made a birdie on the eighth hole and had three pars on her scorecard as she bested the field of girls 12-and-under nine-holers with a 6-over 41.
Team Brillman of Elkins Park battled it out for runnerup honors with Eleanor Brillman making a birdie on the first hole and a par at nine to take second place with a 48 while Evelyn Brillman rounded out a short field in the girls 12-and-under division in third place with a 50.
