Christopher Parrish of Woolwich Township, N.J. continued his
fall roll as he earned a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the
16-to-18 division with a solid 1-over-par 73 Oct. 12th at Wild Quail
Golf & Country Club in Wyoming, Del.d
Parrish made birdies at the first, fifth, seventh, 10th and 18th holes and had seven pars on his scorecard, five of them on the incoming nine at Wild Quail. It was Parrish’s 10th Philly Junior Tour victory of 2024 with the majority of those wins coming since he was one of the four co-medalists in the Junior Tour Championship at Chester Valley Golf Club at Chester Valley Golf Club in August.
Michael Liu, a junior at Archmere Academy and a Garnet Valley resident, made a birdie at the 16th hole and had 14 pars on his card, including seven straight pars to open his round, as he finished a shot behind Parrish in second place with a 2-over 74.
Anthony Manzi of Newtown Square made a birdie at the fifth hole and had 11 pars on his card as he finished four shots behind Liu in third place with a 78.
Trey Barkmann of West Chester took fourth place with an 80, Jacob Gabbard of Lewes, Del. was fifth with an 83, Adam Zink of Dover, Del. was sixth with an 84 and Jayden Keenoy of Langhorne was seventh with an 85.
Michael Links of Swedesboro, N.J. took eighth place with a 91, Chad Hughey of Rehoboth Beach, Del. was ninth with a 97 and Kevin Cavalluzzo of Doylestown rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he finished 10th with a 105.
Quinten Joiner of Millington, Md. made birdies at the first and 10th holes and then rattled off three straight birdies at 13, 14 and 15 as he matched Parrish for the low round of the day with a 1-over 73 to finish at the top of the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division.
Joiner also had seven pars on his scorecard and toured the incoming nine at Wild Quail in 2-under 34.
Quinn Marshall of Wilmington, Del. made three straight birdies at the third, fourth and fifth holes and had seven pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors among the younger guys with an 80.
Arbor Frieberg of Newark, Del. made birdies at the fourth and 18th holes and had five pars on his card as he finished in third place with an 87.
A couple of Wilmington, Del. guys, Matthew Hoopes and Robert Rittereiser, accounted for the next two spots on the leaderboard as Hoopes took fourth place with a 94 and Rittereiser was fifth with a 95.
Andrew Bradshaw of Moorestown, N.J. took sixth place 99 and Brayden Howard of Haverford rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as he finished seventh with a 103.
The best score among the girls emerged from the 13-to-15 division as Anna Firko, a junior at Mt. Pleasant High, put together a really impressive 2-over 74 to capture a Philly Junior Tour victory.
Firko made birdies at the first, seventh, 10th and 16th holes and had nine pars on her scorecard. Firko had an even-par 36 on the outgoing nine at Wild Quail.
Gabrielle Hamstead of Milton, Del. rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division as she made a birdie on the fourth hole and had seven pars on her card while finishing in second place with an 86.
Brooke Burge of Middletown, Del. made a birdie at the 15th hole and had seven pars on her scorecard as she claimed a Philly Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division with an 87.
Samantha Petty of Lincoln, Del. rounded out a short field in the 16-to-18 division as she made a par on the 15th hole on her way to a 107 that left her in second place.
Patrick Thomas of Hockessin, Del. topped the field of nine-holers with a 2-over 38 that included birdies at the fifth and ninth holes and four pars. After a slow start, Patrick Thomas went 2-under over his final six holes.
Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg and Niko Muego of Bryn Mawr shared runnerup honors as each finished four shots behind Patrick Thomas with a 6-over 42.
Jonathan Thomas made a birdie at the first hole and had two pars on his scorecard. Muego had four pars on his card.
A couple of Wilmington, Del. guys, Charlie Sears and Michael Perry, accounted for the next two spots on the coed 12-and-under division leaderboard as Sears took fourth place with a 44 and Perry was fifth with a 46.
A couple of Chadds Ford entries, Luca Malizia and Declan Mayo, and James Welsh of Wilmington, Del. finished in a tie for sixth place, each signing for a 47.
Carter Tracy of Smyrna, Del. took ninth place with a 54 and Enzo Markert of Ambler rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division as he finished 10th with a 62.
