Sebastian Meyer of South Abington Township had a birdie-birdie finish to complete a sparkling 4-over-par 75 at Valley Country Club in Sugarloaf Aug. 19th and land at the top of the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop.
Meyer had 12 pars on his scorecard, rattling off seven straight pars to open his back nine. Combined with the birdies at the 17th and 18th holes, that run of pars from 10 through 16 gave Meyer a 2-under 34 on the incoming nine at Valley.
Jack Ferm of Garnet Valley made a birdie at the sixth hole and had four pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 93.
Liam McDonald of Clarks Summit rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division as he made back-to-back pars at the 16th and 17th holes to finish in third place with a 97.
Pretty sure, high school golf was getting started that week, which made for a small field at Valley, just north of Hazleton, but Boyertown senior Chase Dillman, who has played a ton of golf on the Philly Junior Tour this summer, earned a victory with an 83 as the lone entry in the 16-to-18 division.
Dillman made back-to-back birdies at the third and fourth holes, added a third birdie at eight and had eight pars on his scorecard.
Bryce Bussom made the ride from Lewisburg and birdied the first hole and had four pars on his scorecard as he bested the field of nine-holers with a 4-over 39.
Benjamin Lear of West Chester made pars at the second and fifth holes as he earned runnerup honors with a 44.
Another Lewisburg guy, Joe Bowers, made a par on the third hole as he finished a shot behind Lear in third place with a 45.
James Wilson of Wilmington, Del. took fourth place with a 52, Andrew Conway of Hatboro was fifth with a 59 and Carter Tracy of Smyrna, Del. was sixth with a 61.
Rounding out the field in the coed 12-and-under division was Ethan Lerner of Blue Bell as he finished a shot behind Tracy in seventh place with a 62.
