Boyertown senior Chase Dillman put together a solid 2-over-par 72 to finish at the top of the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Spring Hollow Golf Club just outside Spring City Sept. 14th.
Dillman made birdies at the seventh, 14th and 16th holes and had 10 pars on his scorecard in racking up his eighth Philly Junior Tour win of the season.
Brody Calle, a junior at Owen J. Roberts playing close to his Spring City home, made a birdie at the sixth hole, went back-to-back with birdies at 10 and 11, had a fourth birdie at 16 and had six pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 6-over 76, four shots behind Dillman.
Lyle Petersen of Media made a birdie at the fifth hole and had 11 pars on his card, including a string of six straight pars from the 11th through the 16th holes, as he finished two shots behind Calle in third place with a 78.
Dillman’s Boyertown teammate William Swartley, a junior with the Bears, took fourth place with a 79, Plymouth-Whitemarsh junior Luke Farnese was fifth with an 81, Lansdale Catholic senior Jake Benner was sixth with an 82 and Eric Coombs of North Cape May, N.J. was seventh with an 83.
Rounding out the field in the 16-to-18 division was St. Joseph’s Prep junior Will Savarese as he finished in eighth place with an 88.
Will Simonson of Haddonfield, N.J. had 14 pars on his scorecard, including nine straight pars from the third through the 11th holes, to claim a Philly Junior Tour victory in the 13-to-15 division with a 5-over 75.
Chase Andrews, a sophomore on the Souderton golf team, made a birdie on the 17th hole and had eight pars on his card as finished in second place with an 8-over 78.
Paul O’Malley of Eagleville had 12 pars on his card as he ended up in third place with an 80.
Jason Kim of Ambler took fourth place with an 81, Michael Manzi of Newtown Square was fifth with an 82, William Quartermain of Bryn Mawr and Episcopal Academy sophomore Harrison Perry ended up in a tie for sixth, each landing on 83, and Collin Padovani of Jonestown was eighth with an 85.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division was the trio of Rithvik Nimma of Newtown, Carter Johnson of Berwyn and Jake Julian of Malvern as each signed for an 86 to finish in a tie for ninth place.
Rachel Schuda, a senior on the Downingtown West girls team, had 12 pars on her scorecard, closing out her round with five straight pars, in a solid 81 as she was the lone entry in the girls 16-to-18 division.
Alexa Shure of Malvern was the lone entry in the 13-to-15 division and she made a birdie at the 11th hole and followed it up with back-to-back pars at 12 and 13 on her way to a 98.
Taimoor Naseem of Sinking Spring made back-to-back birdies at the fifth and sixth holes and had six pars on his scorecard as he bested the field of nine-holers with a sparkling 1-under 34.
It was seven shots back to a trio of players tied for second place at 6-over 41 that included Ty Thompson of Devault, Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg and Victor Wang of Hockessin, Del.
Thompson had three straight pars on his card at the seventh, eighth and ninth holes to close out his round. Thomas had four pars on his card and Wang made a birdie the fifth hole and had four pars on his card.
Niko Muego of Bryn Mawr took fifth place with a 42, Connor Masulis of Pottstown was sixth with a 43, Noah English of Villanova was seventh with a 44 and Declan Mayo of Chadds Ford was eighth with a 45.
James Wilson of Wilmington, Del. took ninth place with a 46 and Reed Starzecki of Bryn Mawr rounded out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division as he finished 10th with a 47.
