P.J. Foley of Northfield, N.J. had the best score of the day among the guys who teed it up in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Medford Village Country Club in Medford, N.J. Aug. 24th as his 4-over-par 76 gave him the victory in the 13-to-15 division.
Foley made birdies on the 10th and 14th holes and had 11 pars on his scorecard, touring the incoming nine at Medford Village in 2-under 34.
Daniel Herzchel of Linwood, N.J. made a birdie on the 17th hole and had 10 pars on his card, including a run of six pars in a row from the third through the eighth holes, as he earned runnerup honors with an 81.
Ethan Barroway and Vaughn Soltys finished in a tie for third place, each ending up a shot behind Herzchel with an 82. Barroway made a birdie on the fifth hole and had seven pars on his card and Soltys also made a birdie at five and had seven pars on his card.
Jin Sun took fifth place with an 83, Matthew Duphorn was sixth with an 85, Quin Zuegner was seventh with an 88 and Liam Frykholm was eighth with an 89.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division were four players tied for ninth place, each landing on 94. The foursome included Brayden Mitchell, Drake Brogan, Andrew Squire and Jackson Bodony.
Kevin Hochenberger of Stockton, N.J. had a steady round with 13 pars on his scorecard, including six straight pars to open his round, as he finished atop the 16-and-18 division leaderboard with a 5-over 77.
Zachary Freed of Linwood, N.J. had nine pars on his card, including five straight pars to close out his round, as he finished in second place with an 82. Owen Doyle of Galloway, N.J. had 10 pars on his card as he finished a shot behind Freed in third place with an 83.
Ryan Gibson took fourth place with an 85, Aiden Riley was fifth with an 88 and Dominic Polistina and John (Jack) Morrissey finished in a tie for sixth, each signing for an 89.
Patrick O’Hara finished in eighth place with a 92 and Caden Quinn rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he took ninth with a 99.
The best score among the girls at Medford Village also came out of the younger 13-to-15 division as Lauren Patullo of Moorestown, N.J. made a birdie at the 11th hole and had 11 pars on her scorecard to claim a Philly Junior Tour victory with a 6-over 78.
Another Moorestown, N.J. entry, Katherine Liu, had six pars on her card as she finished in second place with an 88. Ajuni Oberoi of Cherry Hill, N.J. had four pars on her card as she finished two shots behind Liu in third place with a 90.
Annalise Capoli took fourth place with a 93, Hannah Webb was fifth with a 94, Katherine Lee was sixth with a 101 and Sophia Blair rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished in seventh place with a 109.
Sehyr Singh of Mount Laurel, N.J. had two pars on her scorecard as she claimed a victory in the 16-to-18 division with a 95.
Jiayin Ou of Pottstown rounded out a short field of older girls as she finished in second place with a 109 that included a par on the ninth hole.
Ian Rotto of Kennett Square bested a typically competitive group of nine-holers as he made birdies at the third and seventh holes and had five pars on his scorecard on his way to an even-par 36.
Jackson Lane of Cinnaminson, N.J. was right on Rotto’s heels as he made birdies on the second and sixth holes and had four pars on his card to earn runnerup honors with a 1-over 37.
Dane Mohap of Nazareth, who has been showing up at or near the top of the leaderboard in the coed 12-and-under division all summer, made birdies at the fourth and sixth holes and had four pars on his card as he finished two shots behind Lane in third place with a 3-over 39.
Judd Fletcher, Anthony Primo and Onyu Park shared fourth place, each posting a 41, and Winston Chew and Justin Stickel finished in a tie for seventh, each recording a 44.
Thomas Carpenter took ninth place as he carded a 46 and Jacob Shachar and Jack Forstein rounded out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division as they finished in a tie for 10th, each landing on 48.
