Brooke Graham, a three-time PIAA Class AA qualifier for Boiling Springs, was the only entrant in the girls 16-to-18 division and her 5-over-par 75 was the best round of the day in Wednesday’s Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Overlook Golf Course in Manheim Township.
Graham, who finished in a tie for sixth place in the state championship at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort as a junior last fall, made back-to-back birdies at the ninth and 10th holes, added a third birdie at 13 and had nine pars on her scorecard in her solid effort over the par-70 Overlook layout.
Talia Hoffner, a junior at Upper Dublin, made it two Philly Junior Tour wins in as many days as she recorded a 7-over 77 to take the top spot in the 13-to-15 division. Hoffner, who topped the field of younger girls a day earlier at The Bucks Club, made a birdie on the 15th hole and had 10 pars on her card.
Anika Fernandes of Reading rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished in second place with a 131.
Noah Richardson of Malvern made birdies at the sixth, 11th and 15th holes and had eight pars on his scorecard as he captured the boys 16-to-18 division with a solid 6-over 76.
Richardson held off a trio of players who rounded out a short field of older guys, finishing in a tie for second place, each landing on 78.
Aidan Young of Reading opened his round with an eagle at the par-5 first hole and had nine pars on his card, Jake Johnson of Wayne had 10 pars, including a run of six straight from the 11th through the 16th holes, and Thomas Kennedy of Collegeville made birdies at the fourth and 15th holes and had seven pars on his card.
Nevan Graham of Honey Brook recorded back-to-back birdies at the fourth and fifth holes and had four pars on his scorecard as he finished atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division with an 85.
Cole Amann of Downingtown finished just a shot behind Graham in second place with an 86 that featured eight pars. Wyatt Cudmore of Elkton, Md. was another shot behind Amann in third place as he posted an 87 that included a birdie at the fifth hole and four pars.
Luke Daniels of Devon and Ian Yoo of Blue Bell finished in a tie for fourth place, each signing for a 91. Ayden Gallen of Broomall rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as he finished alone in sixth place with a 92.
Dane Mohap of Nazareth bested the field of nine-holers with a 6-over 41, Mohap’s ninth win in 20 Philly Junior Tour starts this year. After a slow start, Mohap rattled off seven straight pars.
Miles McGinty of Lititz was the runnerup with a 46 and Jake Julian of Malvern rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division as he made a par on the sixth hole on his way to a 49 that left him in third place.
