Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. made four birdies on his way to a solid 2-over-par 73 at Medford Lakes Country Club in Medford, N.J. to claim the top spot in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour event Wednesday.
Three of Forman’s birdies came on the front nine at the third, fifth and ninth holes as he toured Medford Lakes’ outgoing nine in 1-under 35. Forman added a fourth birdie at the 17th hole and had 10 pars on his scorecard.
Sean Walker of Haddonfield, N.J. and Zachary Freed of Linwood, N.J. finished three shots behind Forman in a tie for second place among the older guys, each landing on 5-over 76.
Walker made a birdie at the first hole and had 11 pars on his card. Freed’s steady round featured 14 pars, including eight straight from the 11th through the 18th holes to conclude his round.
Downingtown West senior Brady Manning was a shot behind Walker and Freed in fourth place with a 77. Owen Doyle of Galloway, N.J. and Brian Cotter of Cherry Hill, N.J. were three shots behind Manning in a tie for fifth place, each signing for an 80.
Aidan Irons of Yardley took seventh place with an 82, Matthew Morris of Haddonfield, N.J. was eighth with an 84 and Gavin Schroeder of Bensalem was ninth with an 86.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division were Christopher Chicano of West Berlin, N.J. and Ryan Gibson of Cinnaminson, N.J. as they ended up in a tie for 10th place, each posting an 87.
Luke Tappeiner of Northfield, N.J. jump-started his round by holing out from 64 yards away for an eagle on the par-4 opening hole at Medford Lakes on his way to a 6-over 77 that landed him atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division.
Tappeiner also made birdies at the 12th and 16th holes and had eight pars on his scorecard in registering the Philly Junior Tour victory.
Trevor Sieben, playing not far from his Medford, N.J. home, also holed out for eagle at the par-4 13th hole, made birdies on the sixth and 17th holes and had six pars as he earned runnerup honors with an 81.
Anestis Kalderemtzis of Glen Mills and Daniel Herzchel of Linwood, N.J. shared third place, each signing for an 83. Kalderemtzis made a birdie on the 10th hole and had eight pars on his card with six of them coming on Medford Lakes’ incoming nine while Herzchel had seven pars on his card.
Gavin McCloskey of Williamstown, N.J. and James Schramek of Chalfont shared fifth place, each landing on 85, Matthew Daughtry, another Williamstown, N.J. guy, took seventh with an 86 and Ian Yoo of Blue Bell was eighth with an 87.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division were Matthew Duphorn of Erial, N.J. and Trey Barkman of West Chester as they finished in a tie for ninth place, each recording an 89.
Hannah Puc of Marlton, N.J. continued her Philly Junior Tour hot streak through South Jersey as she had 12 pars on her scorecard, including nine straight from the ninth through the 14th holes, on her way to an 80 that gave her a victory in the 16-to-18 division.
Puc had victories in last week’s Philly Junior Tour stops at the Rancocas Golf Club and Pennsauken Country Club.
Grace Klements of Little Egg Harbor, N.J. had six pars as she earned runnerup honors with an 87. Curstan Bunch of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as she had four pars while finishing alone in third place with a 92.
Katherine Liu of Moorestown, N.J. had eight pars on her scorecard, including six straight in a stretch from the 11th through the 16th holes, as she claimed the top spot in the 13-to-15 division with an 87.
Kaitlynne Simmons of Townsend, Del. and Ajuni Oberoi of Cherry Hill, N.J. shared second place, each landing on 89. Simmons had six pars on her card while Oberoi recorded three pars.
Team Kuminka of Mickleton, N.J. accounted for the next two spots on the leaderboard as Maya Kuminka took fourth place with a 98 and Carly Kuminka was fifth with a 100.
Sophia Blair of Williamstown, N.J. took sixth place with a 102 and Reagan Wilson of Kennett Square was seventh with a 103. Macai Klein of Moorestown, N.J. rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished alone in eighth place with a 115.
Anthony Primo of Marlton, N.J. made a birdie at the second hole and had three pars on his scorecard as he bested the field of nine-holers with a 5-over 41.
Judd Fletcher of Moorestown, N.J. and Jackson Lane of Cinnaminson, N.J. shared runnerup honors as each posted a 44 to finish three shots behind Primo. Fletcher and Lane each had three pars on his card.
Anthony Beach of Westville, N.J. took fourth place with a 47, Chloe Donohue of Moorestown, N.J. was fifth with a 48, Ben Meixell of Wilmington, Del. was sixth with a 49 and Cian Mahoney of Middletown, Del. was seventh with a 51.
Gavin Lane, another member of Team Lane from Cinnaminson, N.J., took eighth place with a 52, Evan Hahn of Berlin, N.J. was ninth with a 53, and Edmond Speitel of Haddonfield, N.J. rounded out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division, finishing in 10th place with a 56.
