David Dempsey of Franklinville, N.J. had three of his six birdies consecutively on the front nine on his way to a sizzling 2-under-par 67 at Middletown Country Club in Langhorne that gave him a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division Aug. 19th.
Dempsey ripped off three straight birdies at the second, third and fourth holes to jump-start his round. He added birdies at the ninth, 12th and 17th holes.
Dempsey had nine pars on his scorecard, including a string of four straight pars from the 13th through the 16th holes as he toured the incoming nine at Middletown in 2-under 32.
John Thompson, a junior on the Phoenixville golf team, made birdies at the first, third, ninth and 16th holes and had 10 pars on his card, including a run of five straight pars from four through eight, as he earned runnerup honors with a 2-over 71.

John Gross of Swedesboro, N.J. made birdies at the second and fifth holes and had nine pars on his card, including a stretch of five consecutive pars from seven through 11, as he finished in third place with a 5-over 74.
Justin Wheeler of Warminster and Vaughn Smartt of Bryn Mawr shared fourth place, each posting a 78, Liam Ren of Garnet Valley was sixth with a 79 and Victor Frederico of Moorestown, N.J. finished seventh with an 82.
Another member of Phoenixville’s Team Thompson, Morgan Thompson, a senior on the golf team for the Phantoms, and Anderson Tineo of Mount Royal, N.J. shared eighth place, each signing for an 84, and Lukas Dohlen of Mullica Hill, N.J. rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he finished 10th with an 88.
Anthony Tray of Newtown Square lit up the outgoing nine at Middletown with a 4-under 31 as he captured a Philly Junior Tour victory in the 13-to-15 division with a 3-over 72.
Tray ripped off consecutive birdies at the third, fourth and fifth holes and went back-to-back with birdies at seven and eight before adding a sixth birdie at 14. Tray had six pars on his scorecard.
Jackson Roy of Medford, N.J. made birdies at the fourth, fifth and seventh holes while touring Middletown’s front nine in 1-under 34 as he finished two shots behind Tray in second place with a 5-over 74. Roy had seven pars on his card.
Helmut Dang, another Newtown Square guy, made birdies at the fifth, seventh and 11th holes and had seven pars on his card as he finished in third place with a 76.
Council Rock North sophomore Rithvik Nimma, a District One Class AAA qualifier a year ago, took fourth place with a 77, Mark Westfall, another Medford, N.J. entry, and Gavin Lane of Cinnaminson, N.J. shared fifth, each recording a 79, and Jack Gilbert of Bryn Mawr finished seventh with an 81.
Ryan Orrino of Ivyland took eighth place with an 82 and Jacob Russell of Wilmington, Del. and Kody Mckeon of Chalfont rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as they finished in a tie for ninth, each registering an 83.
Gabrielle Kim of Ambler had 13 pars on her scorecard, including four straight pars to close out her round, as she earned a Philly Junior Tour victory in the girls 13-to-15 division with a solid 6-over 75.
Molly Wagner, a Newark, Del. resident and a junior on the St. Mark’s golf team, had six pars on her card as she rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division, finishing in second place with an 89.
Wagner was coming off a Philly Junior Tour victory the previous week at Kimberton Golf Club.
Niko Muego of Bryn Mawr and Samuel Karas of Blue Bell finished in a tie at the top of the leaderboard among the boys 12-and-under nine-holers as each registered a 4-over 39.
Muego, coming off a win in the Philly Junior Tour 12-and-under Championship less than a week earlier at McCall Golf & Country Club, had six pars on his scorecard, all six coming consecutively from the third through the eighth holes.
Karas also had six pars on his card as he opened his round with three straight pars.
The trio of Kash Gray of Eagleville, Baylor Keim, another Blue Bell guy, and Blake Shurman of Villanova finished in a tie for third place, each carding a 40.
Gray made a birdie at the ninth hole and added back-to-back pars at three and four.
Keim, who finished in a tie for second behind Muego in the Philly Junior Tour 12-and-under Championship at McCall, made a birdie at the ninth hole and had three straight pars at four, five and six.
Shurman had five pars on his card and they happened consecutively on the last five holes of his round.
Ryan Kaye of Lansdale took sixth place with a 41 and Jamie Cahn of Penn Valley and Victor Wang of Hockessin, Del. shared seventh, each posting a 43.
Adam Feith of Merion Station took ninth place with a 44 and Krishen Arora of Hamilton Township, N.J. and Ethan Hong of Radnor rounded out the top 10 in the boys 12-and-under division as they finished in a tie for 10th, each tallying a 45.
Olivia Konieczki of Sewell, N.J. made pars at the fourth and seventh holes as she bested the field of girls 12-and-under nine-holers with a 47.
Addison Sabatini of West Chester made a par at the seventh hole as she earned runnerup honors with a 49 that left her two shots behind Konieczki.
Julie Prickitt of Ambler ripped off three straight pars at the fifth, sixth and seventh holes as she finished in third place with a 51.
Allison Hong of Wayne rounded out the field in the girls 12-and-under division as she finished in fourth place with a 56.
