Logan Turner of Berwyn blitzed Ingleside Golf Club in Thorndale with three sets of back-to-back birdies for six overall as he claimed a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the 13-to-15 division Oct. 6th with a sizzling 3-under-par 65.
Turner went back-to-back with birdies at the first and second holes to open his round, did it again at eight and nine to round out a 3-under 30 tour of Ingleside’s outgoing nine and went back-to-back one last time at 17 and 18 to conclude his round. He also had nine pars on his scorecard.
Michael Darcy of Fort Washington heated up on the incoming nine at Ingleside as he made birdies at the 10th, 13th and 14th holes while recording a 2-under 33 on the back nine on his way to a 1-over 69 that earned him runnerup honors. Darcy had 11 pars on his card.
Ethan Yip of Marlboro, N.J. made a birdie at the fifth hole and had 13 pars on his card, rattling off nine straight pars from the ninth through the 17th holes, as he finished two shots behind Darcy in third place with a 3-over 71.
Ty Sheftic, a sophomore on the Wissahickon golf team, took fourth place with a 72, Rayan Shah of Newtown was fifth with a 73, Beck Rosenthal of Ambler was sixth with a 77 and Jesse Sherman of Villanova was seventh with a 78.
Brody Campbell of Plymouth Meeting and Jack Lobley of Gladwyne shared eighth place, each posting a 79, and Owen Ciesielka of West Chester rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he finished 10th with an 80.
Christopher Parrish of Woolwich Township, N.J. continued his winning ways as he made birdies on the first, ninth, 13th and 16th holes and had 12 pars on his card, including a string of six straight pars from the second through the seventh holes, as he finished at the top of the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division with a sparkling 1-under 67.
Parrish toured the outgoing nine at Ingleside in 1-under 32 on his way to his eighth Philly Junior Tour victory of the season.
Luke Farnese of Lafayette Hill made a birdie on the 14th hole and had eight pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with an 81.
Brady Bellew of Newtown Square rounded out a short field in the 16-to-18 division as he had five pars on his card, all of them on the incoming nine at Ingleside, as he finished in third place with a 90.
Anna Rufo, a sophomore at Agnes Irwin from Gladwyne, made a birdie on the seventh hole and had five pars on her scorecard as she claimed a Philly Junior Tour victory in the girls 13-to-15 division with an 80.
Emma Gangemi, playing not from her Downingtown home, had four pars on her card as she earned runnerup honors with a 92.
Addison Murphy of Cummings rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division as she made a par on the seventh hole on her way to a third-place finish with a 123.
Taimoor Naseem of Sinking Spring completed a weekend sweep of the nine-holers as he made bookend birdies at the first and ninth holes and had five pars on his scorecard, including a run of four straight pars from the fifth through the eighth holes, on his way to an even-par 33.
Naseem had taken the top spot in the coed 12-and-under division a day earlier at Berkleigh Golf Club. His victory at Ingleside gave him seven wins in 2024.
After opening his round with a double bogey at the first hole, Declan Mayo of Chadds Ford rattled off eight straight pars to finish two shots behind Naseem in second place with a 2-over 35.
Jack Gilbert of Bryn Mawr had five pars on his card as he finished in third place with a 40.
Smith Rawes of Elkins Park and Steven Musacchio of Glenmoore shared fourth place, each signing for a 41, Xunnan Dang of Newtown Square, a runnerup to Naseem a day earlier at Berkleigh, was sixth with a 42, Thomas Airoldi of Bryn Mawr was seventh with a 44, Rylan Foust of Exton was eighth with a 47 and Charlie Sears of Wilmington, Del. was ninth with a 48.
Rounding out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division were Benjamin Gangemi, another member of Downingtown’s Team Gangemi, and Reed Starzecki of Bryn Mawr as they finished in a tie for 10th place, each registering a 49.
