Dillman tuned up for District One Championship by claiming a Philly Junior Tour victory at Berkleigh

Boyertown senior Chase Dillman was gearing up for a run to the PIAA Class AAA Championship when he captured a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division with a 1-over-par 73 Oct. 5th at Berkleigh Golf Club in Kutztown.

A little more than a week later, Dillman bounced back from an opening-round 82 in fierce winds at Turtle Creek Golf Course with a solid 1-over 73 in the second round as he finished in a tie for seventh place in the District One Class AAA Championship and punched his ticket to the state tournament, which gets under way Monday at Penn State.

At Berkleigh, Dillman made a birdie at the fifth hole, an eagle at the par-5 16th and had 12 pars on his scorecard, seven of them while touring the incoming nine at Berkleigh in 1-under 36. It was his 10th Philly Junior Tour victory of the season.

Zac Devos, a junior on the Bensalem golf team, made birdies on the seventh, 10th, 16th and 18th holes and had five pars on his card as he finished four shots behind Dillman in second place with a 5-over 77.
