Ethan Martin of North Wales put together a solid 2-over-par 70 at Ingleside Golf Club in Thorndale to claim the top spot in the 13-to-15 division and earn a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory on a gorgeous first Sunday of fall.
Martin had a steady round over the 5,165-yard, par-68 Ingleside layout, making a birdie on the 13th hole and recording 14 pars for the best score of the day among the guys in either age group.
Adrian Jordan of Lawrenceville, N.J. had 12 pars on his scorecard as he claimed runnerup honors with a 7-over 75, five shots behind Martin. Chase Dillman of Gilbertsville birdied the second hole and had nine pars on his card, seven of them on the incoming nine at Ingleside, as he finished in third place with a 76.
Justin Marcus of Glenmoore took fourth place with an 80, Christopher Sung of Paoli was fifth with an 82, William Shuford of Wayne was sixth and Callahan Harrell of York was seventh with an 84.
Lannon Boyd of Radnor ended up in eighth place with an 86 and Andrew Michalski of Williamstown, N.J. rounded out the 13-to-15 division field, finishing ninth with an 87.
Ethan Choi of Ambler made birdies at the first and 13th holes and had four pars on his scorecard as he landed atop the 16-to-18 division leaderboard with an 11-over 79.
Conestoga junior Kyle Mauro and Haverford High senior Jack Ebert rounded out a short field of older guys as they finished in a tie for second place, each posting an 83. Mauro closed his round with a birdie at the 18th hole and had eight pars on his scorecard. Ebert had six pars on his card.
Karina Serio of Colora, Md. had four pars on her card as she claimed a victory in the girls 13-to-15 division with a 95. Caitlyn Monestere of Downingtown made pars at the first and last holes on her way to a 114 as she rounded out a short field of younger gals with a runnerup finish.
Lawson Leeper of York birdied the second hole and had five pars, including the last three in a row, as he bested a typically competitive field of nine-holers with a 2-over 35.
Jason Mack of Delaware Water Gap and Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. shared second place, each finishing three shots behind Leeper with a 5-over 38. Mack birdied the first hole and made pars at the second, third and fourth holes. Sieben had five pars on his scorecard.
Anthony Proud of Stroudsburg and Vyom Shukla of Berwyn finished in a tie fourth place, each posting a 40. Giulia Weisser of Reading took sixth place with a 43, Benjamin Mayer of Garnet Valley was seventh with a 44, Anderson Braxler of Doylestown was eighth with a 47 and Elijah Hartono of Downingtown was ninth with a 49.
Rounding out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division were three players tied for 10th place, each landing on 50, including Tara Griscavage of Mechanicsburg, Gus Wolfe of Downingtown and Miles McGinty of Lititz.
