Jack Tarzy of Medford, N.J. had the best round of the day on
his way to a first-place finish in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia
Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Pennsauken Country Club Wednesday.
Tarzy had three birdies and made an eagle on the 14th
hole as he matched par with a 70 over the 5,408-yard, par-70 Pennsauken layout.
That left him eight shots clear of runnerup Tyler Smith of Maple Shade, N.J.,
who finished strong with a couple of pars in posting an 8-over 78.
Matthew Normand of Lumberton, N.J. took third with an 80.
Tyler Debusschere of Wallingford and Ryan Horenci of Lansdale shared fourth
place, each carding an 82. Robert Dominy of Moorestown, N.J. finished alone in
sixth place with an 83.
Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. and Aaron Skii of West Chester
ended up in a tie for seventh as each landed on 84 and Daniel Fitzgerald of New
Hope and Luke Tarse of Hainesport, N.J. rounded out the top 10 as they finished
in a tie for ninth, each posting an 85.
Alec Stern of Bryn Mawr and Samuel Barsh of Blue Bell shared
the top spot in the 16-to-18 division as each signed for a 6-over 76. Both
players birdied the eighth hole and Stern and Barsh each had matching 38s on
both nines at Pennsauken.
A couple of solid Central League returnees, Radnor senior
Davis Flannery and Strath Haven junior Jackson Debusschere of Wallingford’s
Team Debusschere, accounted for the next two spots on the leaderboard as
Flannery took third with a 78 that featured 10 pars and Debusschere was fourth
with a 79.
Carl Michael Lim of Franklinville, N.J. and Pennsbury senior
Ethan Finkelstein shared fifth place, each posting an 83. Colton Murray of
Sewell, N.J. was a shot behind Lim and Finkelstein in seventh place with an 84.
Rounding out the top 10 was a three-way tie for eighth at 85
among Ricky Calve of Oceanport, N.J., Matthew Van Istendal of Haddon Heights,
N.J. and Michael Tallanda of Philadelphia.
Two of the Inter-Ac League’s top players, Episcopal Academy
junior Kathleen Mark and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy junior Emma Schotsch,
battled it out for the top spot in the girls 16-to-18 division.
Mark, who helped the Churchwomen win their second straight
Inter-Ac crown this spring, ran off six straight pars on the back nine on her
way to a 79 that gave her the top spot by nine shots over Schotsch, who birdied
the eighth hole on her way to an 88.
Schotsch finished third and Mark in a tie for fourth place
in the Inter-Ac Championship in May at French Creek Golf Club.
Julia Ergood of Mount Laurel, N.J. had pars at the 12th
and 17th holes coming down the stretch while recording a 98 that
left her alone in third place. Zoe Sousa of Millstone, N.J. took fourth with a
111.
Hatboro’s Team Barnett battled it out for the victory in the
13-to-15 division as Chaela Barnett had four pars in an 86 that gave her the
top spot while Lola Barnett made a par on the 17th hole to take
runnerup honors with a 92.
Curstan Bunch of Wilmington, Del. had two pars on the front
nine as she took third with a 94.
Paul Reilly of West Creek, N.J. had five pars in a steady
6-over 41 that bested a tightly bunched field of nine-holers. Ethan Legarda of
Voorhees, N.J. got off to a good start with a par on the first hole on his way
to a 42 as he claimed runnerup honors.
Tommy Marshall of Marlton, N.J. was another shot behind
Legarda in third place with a 43, Jack Cranmer of Riverton, N.J. was fourth
with a 44, Savannah Laverty of Moorestown, N.J. was fifth with a 45 and Will
Zhang of Cherry Hills, N.J. was sixth with a 47.
Only six shots separated first place from sixth place in the
coed 12-and-under division.
