Michael Bozzi of Newtown Square went even-par on the front
nine on his way to a 4-over-par 75 that gave him the top spot in the 16-to-18
division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Monday at steamy Scotland
Run Golf Club in Williamstown, N.J.
Bozzi had five pars on the back nine to close out a solid
round over the 6,315-yard, par-71 Scotland Run layout. Spring-Ford junior Luke
Watson, a Class AAA East Region qualifier last fall, had birdies on the first,
fourth, 12th and 16th holes to earn runnerup honors with
a 6-over 77.
Ryan Dolan of Newark, Del. and Rocco Sanfelice of Woolwich,
N.J. each posted a 7-over 78 to finish in a tie for third. Bobby Johnson of
Mullica Hill, N.J. finished alone in fifth place with an 80.
Tyler Peters of Berlin, N.J. and Noah Petracci of Atco, N.J.
shared sixth place, each posting an 81. Watson’s Spring-Ford teammate, senior
Nate Pierce, finished alone in eighth place with an 82 and Benjamin Griffaton
of Pottstown was ninth with an 85.
Three players rounded out the top 10, finishing in a tie for
10th place at 88, including Carl Michael Lim of Franklinville, N.J.,
Michael Tallarida of Philadelphia and Noah Greenspun of Cherry Hill, N.J.
Nathan Guertler of Merchantville, N.J. carded a solid 79
that featured 11 pars, including five straight on the back nine, as he earned
top honors in the 13-to-15 division. Ryan Garvey of Media had five pars on the
front nine and four pars on the back nine as he earned a runnerup finish with
an 82.
Sachin Blake of Berwyn had eight pars in an 85 as he
finished third. Joseph Halferty of Blue Bell took fourth with an 86, Liam
Buckley of Media was fifth with a 90 and Ayden Rinaldi of Berlin, N.J. was
sixth with a 95.
Chase Cristella of Mount Laurel, N.J. finished seventh and
Matthew Buckley, another entry from Media’s Team Buckley, took eighth with a
102.
Christina Carroll of Bear, Del., the reigning Graham Company
girls 16-to-18 division Player of the Year, put together a solid 80 that
included a birdie at the 10th hole and nine pars and gave her the
top spot among the older girls at Scotland Run.
Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. eagled the 10th
hole and had eight pars as she gave Carroll a run for her money with an 83 that
earned her runnerup honors. Madison Sauder of Pittsgrove, N.J. finished third
with a 127 that included a par on the fourth hole.
Stefania Fedun of Glenmoore was the only entry in the
13-to-15 division and earned the victory with a solid 88 that included four
pars on the front nine and pars at 17 and 18 to close out her round.
Jake Grossman of Elkins Park had three pars, going
back-to-back at the third and fourth holes, to best the field of nine-holers
with a 9-over 44. Ethan Legarda of Voorhees, N.J. closed out his round with a
par on the ninth hole to finish second with a 46.
Declan Conner of Swarthmore took third place with a 49 and
Regan Garnsey of Dover, Del. was fourth with a 60.
