Garnet Valley junior Jacob Sokalsky fired a 7-over-par 78 to
claim a victory in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior
Tour stop at Kings Crown Country Club, the final round of a two-day Junior Golf
Scoreboard series in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
Sokalsky had three birdies in a five-hole stretch, getting
one on the eighth and then going back-to-back at 11 and 12. Combined with the
79 Sokalsky posted while finishing tied for third at Rehoboth Beach Country
Club Monday, his 157 total gave him the two-day series victory.
Jacob Leon of Downingtown was the runnerup in the 13-to-15
division with a 95, Nathan Lutz of Middletown, Del. and Jack Ryan of Landenberg
shared third place, each carding a 100, and Stephen Cain of Yardley finished
fifth with a 103.
Colby Hook of Selbyville, Del. torched the 6,341-yard,
par-71 Kings Crown layout with five birdies and an eagle on his way to an 80
that gave him the top spot in the 16-to-18 division.
Frankie Markiewicz of Middletown, Del. finished a shot
behind Hook in second with an 81. Markiewicz finished tied for second Monday at
Rehoboth Beach with a 78 and his 159 total gave him the series victory in the
16-to-18 division.
Timothy Chaykosky Jr. of Ambler and Nicholas Covey of
Easton, Md. shared third place, a shot behind Markiewicz at 82. Christopher
Vanhof of Georgetown, Del. finished fifth with an 86, Ryan Hannigan of Laurel,
Del. was sixth with an 88, Patrick Gogarty of Dagsboro, Del. was seventh with a
95 and Daniel Mankus of Newark, Del was eighth with a 97.
Olivia Perry of Millsboro, Del. rattled off five straight
birdies in a back-nine 39 on her way to an 80 that gave her the top spot in the
girls 16-to-18 division. She captured the division Monday at Rehoboth Beach
with an 85 and swept to the series victory.
McKylie Borman of New Cumberland was the runnerup with a 95
that included four straight pars on 11, 12, 13 and 14. Abigail Han finished
third with a 96, Marple Newtown junior Gillyoung Koh was fourth with a 101 and
Simone Harrison of Georgetown, Del was fifth with a 107.
Riley Quartermain, a sophomore at Haverford High, had six
pars while shooting a 39 on the back nine on her way to an 80 that gave her the
top spot in the 13-to-15 division.
Quartermain also captured the series win by a shot over
Paige Richter of Camp Hill. Richter was the division winner with an 85 Monday
at Rehoboth Beach and was the runnerup to Quartermain at Kings Crown with a 93.
Sawyer Brockstedt, the rising star from Rehoboth Beach, had
five pars in a 41 that left her atop the field of nine-holers. Combined with the
46 Brockstedt posted in a runnerup finish at Rehoboth Beach Monday, her 87
total gave her the series victory.
Brockstedt represented the First State at Augusta National
Golf Club when she finished tied for fourth in the girls 10-to-11 age group in
the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals the Sunday of Masters week.
Griffin Gaughan of Avondale was the runnerup to Brockstedt
with a 50, Avery McCrery of Wilmington, Del. was third with a 52 and Libby
Flaishere of Ardmore was fourth with a 53.
