Lily Yang of West Chester took top honors in the 13-to-15
age group and earned a push cart courtesy of BagBoy in a Philadelphia Section
PGA Junior Tour stop at Bala Golf Club Sunday.
Yang fired an 87 in windy conditions over the 5,306-yard,
par-68 Bala layout in Philadelphia to finish two shots ahead of Elizabeth Beek
of Blue Bell.
Lauren Golden of Wyoming finished third with an 83, Morgan
Sohosky of Bloomsburg was fourth with a 99, Sunshine Gu of Yardley placed fifth
with a 102 and Sarah Scarpill of Warrington took sixth with a 111. Julia Li of
Hockessin, Del. and Kathleen Mark of Media finished in a tie for seventh, each
carding a 115, and Caitlyn Hagerty of Glen Mills took ninth with a 118.
Kiera McGrath of Denver captured the 16-to-18 division in a
match of cards after finishing in a tie for first with Caroline Rosen, a recent
Baldwin graduate who was the Inter-Ac League champion as a sophomore. McGrath
and Rosen both came in at 103.
Julia Loftus of Blue Bell finished third with a 108 and Ryan
Doherty of Philadelphia took fourth with a 128.
The other push cart handed out by BagBoy went to Win Thomas
of Coatesville, who topped the field of nine-holers in a playoff with Joshua
Ryan of Norristown. Thomas and Ryan each carded a 40 and Thomas birdied the
first hole of the playoff to take home a push cart.
William Pabst Jr. of Roaring Brook finished third with a 41,
Jack Davis of Newtown Square placed fourth with a 43, Christopher Buysse of
Paoli took fifth with a 46 and Amit Limaye of Short Hills, N.J. and Adrian Jordan
of Lawrenceville, N.J. were tied for sixth with 47s.
Zachary Sandler of Gladwyne and Jack Dare of Moorestown,
N.J. finished in a tie for eighth, each carding a 50, and Benjamin Saggers of
West Chester rounded out the top 10 by taking 10th with a 52.
