Ryan McCabe of Media made it two Philadelphia Section PGA
Junior Tour victories in as many days in a stop at Blue Bell Country Club
Wednesday that was slowed down by a two-and-a-half hour rain and lightning
delay.
The weather didn’t bother McCabe, who carded a 3-over 74
over the 6,478-yard, par-71 Blue Bell layout to take top honors in the 13-to-15
division. Stephen Lorenzo of Lower Gwynedd finished second, two shots back of
McCabe with a 76.
Aj Aivazoglou of Glen Mills finished third with a 78, Andrew
Curran, a Media resident and Malvern Prep sophomore, was fourth with a 79,
Francis Gregor of Media took fifth with an 80, Jeffery Bozzi of Newtown Square
placed sixth with an 82 and Davis Flannery of Wayne finished seventh with an
84.
Alec Stern of Bryn Mawr and Drew Meitner of Lower Gwynedd
finished tied for eighth, each carding an 85. Rounding out the top 10 were
Charlie Baker of Wayne and Brandon Gregg of North Wales, who finished tied for
10th at 86.
Buddy Hansen IV of Blue Bell was right at home in carding a
1-under 70 to capture the 16-to-18 division. Hansen was consistent with two
birdies against a lone bogey on his card. J.T. Spina of Schwenksville took
second with a 2-over 73.
Michael Sydnes, who helped Radnor capture District One and
PIAA team titles in Class AAA last fall, shared third place with Caleb Ryan of
Norristown, each carding a 4-over 75. William Foxman of Bryn Mawr was alone in
fifth place with a 76. Patrick Sheehan of Doylestown and Timothy Lorenzo of
Maple Glen finished in a tie for sixth at 77.
Michael DeColli of Pottsville finished alone in eighth place
with an 80. Rounding out the top 10 were Colin Johnston of Chalfont and Alex
Parlanti of Collegeville, who finished in a tie for ninth, each posting an 81.
Recently crowned Inter-Ac League champion Meghan Fahey
bested the field in the girls 16-to-18 division with a 79. Fahey, who will be a
senior at Notre Dame in the fall, was 1-over on the front nine before falling
back a little following the rain delay. Amanda Hocker of Warminster was the
runnerup with a 97 and Ryan Doherty of Philadelphia took third with a 98.
Christina Carroll of Bear, Del. won the 13-to-15 division
with an 88. Olivia Wirsching of Blue Bell and Madilyn Siuta of Quakertown
finished in a tie for second, eaching carding a 110. Caroline McFadden of
Perekasie finished fourth with a 131.
Among the nine-holers, Joshua Ryan of Norristown continued
his strong play, taking the top spot with an even-par 35. Jack Davis of Newtown
Square finished second with a 41.
Christopher Buysse of Paoli, Darren Nolan of Glenside and
Michael Om of Blue Bell finished in a tie for third at 45. William Huntley of
Lansdale finished sixth with a 46 and Brendan Burke of Churchville ended up in
seventh with a 49.
