Boyertown senior Chase Dillman put together a solid 2-over-par 73 at Raven’s Claw Golf Club June 26th to claim a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division.
Dillman made birdies at the first and third holes and rattled off 12 straight pars beginning at the seventh hole to conclude his round at the par-71 Raven’s Claw layout where Lower Pottsgrove Township meets Limerick Township.
Raven’s Claw hosted an event on what was then known as the Symetra Tour (now Epson Tour), the developmental circuit for the LPGA Tour, in 2018 and 2019.
Harriton junior Carson Deringer made a birdie on the 15th hole and had seven pars on his scorecard as he earned runnerup honors in the 16-to-18 division with an 82 that left him nine shots behind Dillman.
Dillman’s Boyertown teammate, William Swartley, a junior, had eight pars on his card as he finished three shots behind Deringer in third place with an 85.
Lucas Zhang of Yardley took fourth place with an 86, Devin Carpenter was fifth with an 88, Scott Twilley of Pipersville was sixth with a 90 and Joshua Kriegel of Lawrenceville, N.J. was seventh with a 95.
Chase Kuech of Hatboro took eighth place with a 96 and Gabriel Bracy of Cherry Hill, N.J. rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he finished ninth with a 109.
Benjamin Robbins of Holland finished atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division as he made a birdie on the 10th hole and had 12 pars on his scorecard, eight of them on the front nine, on his way to a 4-over 75. Robbins joined Dillman as the only two players who broke 80 on the challenging Raven’s Claw layout.
Parker Bohn of Harleysville made a birdie at the 10th hole and had nine pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors among the younger guys with an 81.
Matthew McGinnity of West Chester made a birdie on the third hole and had nine pars on his card as he finished a shot behind Bohn in third place in the 13-to-15 division with an 82.
Braydon Dolan of Springfield took fourth place with an 83, Mason Stephan of Collegeville and Tyler Harris of Cinnaminson, N.J. shared fifth, each signing for an 84, and Chase Baker of Huntingdon Valley and Chase Andrews of Harleysville finished in a tie for seventh, each recording an 85.
Thomas Cronan of Penn Valley took ninth place with an 86 and Landon Stern, another Harleysville guy, rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he finished 10th with a 91.
The best score among the girls emerged from the 13-to-15 division as Perkiomen Valley sophomore Saloni Patel made birdies at the fourth and 12th holes and had six pars on her scorecard on her way to a solid 9-over 80.
Madison Cabot of Newtown was right behind Patel as Cabot made a birdie on the eighth hole and had eight pars on her card to finish three shots behind Patel in second place with an 83.
Sue Fanelli of Villanova finished with a flourish, making a birdie on the 18th hole, and had 11 pars on her card as she finished in third place with a 93.
Shioka Vishwanath of Downingtown rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished in fourth place with a 110.
Fortress Chryst of Wescosville was the lone entry in the 16-to-18 division and collected a Philly Junior Tour win with a 124.
Jack Gilbert of Bryn Mawr had three pars on his scorecard as he bested the field of nine-holers with a 6-over 42.
Bryce Bussom of Lewisburg and Xunnan Dang of Newtown Square shared runnerup honors as they finished a shot behind Gilbert, each signing for a 43. Bussom had five pars on his card and Dang made a birdie on the fourth hole and had two pars on his card.
Bobby Stefanski of Newtown Square took fourth place with a 45, Stephen Comly III, another Newtown Square guy, and Steven Musacchio of Glenmoore shared fifth, each recording a 46, Connor Masulis of Pottstown was seventh with a 47 and Ryan Comly, another member of Newtown Square’s Team Comly, was eighth with a 48.
Rounding out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under were Erin Kim of Penn Valley and Carson McNamee of Harleysville as they finished in a tie for ninth place, each registering a 51.
