Strath Haven senior Jackson Debusschere carded a 4-over-par 74 to capture the top spot in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at The Bucks Club in Jamison, Bucks County Saturday.
It looks like Debusschere and the rest of the Central League are about to embark on a shortened fall season with the District One Championship a little more than a week away. Jackson Debusschere and younger brother Tyler, who finished seventh in the 13-to-15 division Saturday at The Bucks Club, helped the Panthers win the first Central League crown in program history a year ago.
Strath Haven then went on to claim the first District One team crown in program history at Turtle Creek Golf Club.
Jackson Debusschere got off to a fast start with birdies on three of the first five holes after morning rain let up and the Junior Tour field got out on the 6,210-yard, par-70 Bucks Club layout. It was Jackson Debusschere’s first Junior Tour win the wraparound 2020-2021 season.
Connor Toussaint of Lansdale finished strong with two birdies and four pars in his final nine holes to earn runnerup honors with a 6-over 76 that left him two shots behind Jackson Debusschere.
