Jacob Boyce of Elkton, Md. had the day’s best score, an 8-over-par
79, to claim top honors in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA
Junior Tour stop Saturday at The Links Golf Club in Marlton, N.J.
Boyce was steady all day, registering 10 pars over the
6,305, par-71 Links layout. Charles Ota of Blue Bell had two birdies on the
back nine to claim runnerup honors with an 80, a shot behind Boyce.
Ajeet Bagga of Blue Bell took third place with a 90, Luke
Turse of Hainesport, N.J. was fourth with a 92 and Luke Harris, another entry
from Hainesport, and another entry from Team Boyce of Elkton, Md., Mike Boyce,
shared fifth place, each carding a 93. Tiger Li of Newtown finished in seventh
place with a 95.
Christopher Waldmann of Malvern opened his round with three
straight pars and made pars on the final hole of each nine on his way to an 82
that gave him a victory in the 16-to-18 division.
Carl Michael Lim of Franklinville, N.J. and James Vinson of
Princeton, N.J. shared second place, each posting a 96. Another entry from Team
Boyce of Elkton, Md., William Boyce, finished fourth with a 107.
The best score among the girls also came out of the younger
13-to-15 division as Ava Svindland of Wilmington, Del. captured top honors with
an 84, a round that featured eight pars. Another Wilmington entry, Curstan
Bunch, was the runnerup with a 92.
Mary Emma Guldi of West Chester was the lone entry in the
16-to-18 division and earned her first career Junior Tour win with a 104.
Savannah Laverty of Moorestown, N.J. had five pars in a
7-over 42 that bested the field of nine-holers. Theodore Plimpton of
Lawrenceville, N.J. made pars on both par-3s to take runnerup honors with a
9-over 44.
Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, N.J. finished in third place
with a 45, Declan Conner of Swarthmore was fourth with a 46, Kiran Bagga of
Blue Bell’s Team Bagga was fifth with a 47 and Nicholas Gatti of West Chester
was sixth with a 48.
Nathaniel Celentano of Malvern took seventh place with a 52,
Gavin McCloskey of Williamstown, N.J. was eighth with a 56, Michael Liu of
Garnet Valley was ninth with a 59 and Kyle Citro of Doylestown was 10th
with a 61.
