With spring busting out in a big way Sunday, Colin Sanderson
of Skillman, N.J. took advantage of the nice weather to fire a 1-over-par 71
and capture top honors in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA
Junior Tour stop at Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton.
Sanderson was even-par with a 35 on the back nine at Morgan
Hill to finish three shots ahead of runnerup Logan Paczewski of Dallas, who
carded a 74. Nicholas Hano of Warrington finished third with a 76.
Ryan D’Ariano of West Chester finished fourth with a 77,
Plymouth-Whitemarsh freshman Dylan Gooneratne was fifth with an 80, Lake Lehman
sophomore Bobby Lugiano, a PIAA Class AA East Region qualifier last fall, was
sixth with an 83 and Ryan Kennedy of Wayne placed seventh with an 89.
Curran Bono of Collegeville and Rion Murtaj of Clarks Summit
shared eighth place, each carding a 90, and Conrad Benford of Parker Ford
rounded out the top 10 with a 91.
Win Thomas of Unionville was the winner in the 13-to-15
division in a match of cards after he and Luke Watson of Royersford each carded
a 6-over 76. Thomas’ 2-over 37 on the back nine at Morgan Hill gave him the
tiebreaker edge.
Henry Stone of Kennett Square finished third with an 81,
Winston Kelenc-Blank of Rumson, N.J. was fourth with an 82 and Connor Gherghel
of Orwigsburg was fifth with an 83. Christian Matt of Springhouse and Leo Brunk
of Newtown shared sixth place, each posting an 84.
Jacob Haberstumpf of Bethlehem finished eighth with an 87, Jack
Dunsmore of Doylestown was ninth with an 88 and Kyle Sullivan of New Hope
rounded out the top 10 with an 89.
Jade Gu of Yardley birdied the first hole on her way to a 79
that gave her top honors in the girls 13-to-15 division. Haverford High
freshman Riley Quartermain was just three shots behind Gu in second with an 82.
Madilyn Siuta of Coopersburg finished third with a 90, a
second member of the Gooneratne gang of Plymouth Meeting, Fiona, was fourth
with a 95, Gwendolyn Powell of Madison
Township took fifth with a 101 and Abigail Lynn of Furlong was sixth with a
106.
Nicholas Gross of Downingtown had a birdie-birdie start on
his way to a 1-under 34 that gave him the top spot among the nine-holers. John
Keba wasn’t far behind in second with a 2-over 37 and Michael Maslanka of
Taylor, coming off a victory Saturday at Galen Hall Golf Club, also broke 40 with a 3-over 38 that left him in third place.
Mason Tucker of York finished fourth with a 46, Devin
Carpenter of Philadelphia was fifth with a 50 and a third member of Team
Gooneratne, Rhianna, was sixth with a 51.
