The younger guys had the lowest rounds as Jack Ross of
Medford Lakes, N.J. edged Jack Reid of Medford, N.J. by a shot to take top
honors in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop
Saturday at Indian Spring Country Club in Marlton, N.J.
Reid went out in the first group of the day and posted a
solid 5-over-par 75 over the 6,328-yard, par-70 Indian Spring layout. Reid’s
score held up all day until Ross, playing in the last group of the day, edged
him by a shot with a 4-over 74. Ross’ round included back-to-back birdies on
the third and fourth holes.
Jack Turzy of Medford, N.J. was another five shots behind
Reid in third with an 80. Haverford School freshman Chase Cohen and Kevin Motil
of Sewell, N.J. shared fourth place, each carding an 83.
Corey Haydu of Doylestown finished sixth with an 85, a
couple of Yardley guys, Ryan Rearden and Christopher Myers, were seventh and
eighth with respective scores of 86 and 87, and Keller Mulhern of Exton was
ninth with an 89.
Rounding out the top 10 was a three-way logjam at 90 among
Liam Buckley of Media, Dylan Kochis of
Exton and Jaden Han of Mahwah, N.J.
A 40 on the back nine by Andrew Koh of Dresher gave him the
top spot in a match of cards in the 16-to-18 division after he finished tied
for first with Noah Petracci of Atco, N.J. and Alex Mayernik of Columbus, N.J.,
each carding an 82.
A couple of Williamstown, N.J. entries, Sean Caspar and
Tyler Geatens shared fourth place, each posting an 83. Kyle Rogers of Jackson,
N.J. finished alone in sixth with an 84.
Another member of Team Caspar from Williamstown, Liam,
shared seventh place with Maxwell Rubin of Marlton, N.J. Rounding out the top
10 was a three-way tie for ninth at 86 among Haverford School freshman Edward
Trumphour, Daniel Wei of Hockessin, Del. and Will Gerity of Yardley.
Another member of Team Han from Mahwah, Jenna, captured top
honors in the girls 13-to-15 age group in a tight battle with Angelina
Tolentino of Mount Laurel, N.J. Han birdied the par-3 13th on her
way to an 81 that gave her a two-shot edge on Tolentino, who posted an 83.
Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. finished third with an 86,
Katrina Cobnian of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. was fourth with a 92 and Stefania
Fedun of Glenmoore was fifth with a 98.
Morgan Graves of Furlong took sixth with a 110, Rachel
Schneberger of Downingtown was seventh with a 111, and Bethany Julias of
Schwenksville was eighth with a 114.
Lily Byrne of Downingtown was unopposed in winning the
16-to-18 division with a 108.
Ajeet Bagga of Blue Bell birdied the par-4 fourth on his way
to a 7-over 42 that gave him the top spot among the nine-holers. Justin Forman
of Sewell, N.J. was the runnerup with a 48 and Michael Dignazio of Wilmington,
Del. was third with a 52 in his Junior Tour debut.
Elora Walker of Philadelphia finished fourth with a 55,
Devin Carpenter of Philadelphia and Jillian Burks of Paoli shared fifth place,
each carding a 56, Jack Cranmer of
Riverton, N.J. was seventh with a 57 and Joseph Collazo of Mount Laurel,
N.J. was eighth with a 68.
