Colin Broderick of Huntingdon Valley had the best score of
the day, a 5-over-par 75, that gave him a victory in the 13-to-15 division in a
Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Tuesday at Northampton Valley Country
Club in Richboro.
Broderick made birdies at the third and seventh holes on his
way to the win over a very competitive younger age group that saw the top-10
finishers all at 80 or better over the par-70 Northampton Valley layout.
John Lee of Jamison and Ethan Martin of North Wales were a
shot behind Broderick in a tie for second place, each carding a 6-over 76.
Strath Haven sophomore Tyler Debusschere, who helped the
Panthers capture the first Central League title in program history as a
freshman last fall, headed a group of four players tied for fourth place, each
registering a 77.
Joining Debusschere at 77 were Colin Drummond of Exton,
Ajeet Bagga of Blue Bell and Nathan Guertler of Merchantville, N.J.
Charles Feraco of Furlong took eighth place with a 78 and a
couple of Doylestown guys, Brendan Reilly and Noah Mueller, rounded out the top
10, Reilly finishing ninth with a 79 and Mueller landing in 10th
with an 80.
Josh Cicco and Chris Myers, senior teammates on the
Pennsbury golf team, shared first place in the 16-to-18 division with Andrew
Beiter of Blue Bell as each signed for a 6-over 76. Cicco and Beiter each had
two birdies on their scorecard and Myers opened his round with a birdie on the
first hole.
Michael Tallarida of Philadelphia finished alone in fourth
place with a 79 and Dylan Gute of Chester Springs and Alexander Feraco of
Furlong’s Team Feraco finished in a tie for fifth, each posting an 80.
Radnor High senior Rishi Khanna, Jack Quinn of Jamison and
Charlie Kerprich of Dresher shared seventh place as each landed on 81. Tanner
Cole of Lumberton, N.J. rounded out the top 10 as he carded an 82 to finish
alone in 10th place.
Sophia Brubaker, a District One Class AAA qualifier as a
sophomore at Conestoga last fall, claimed top honors in the girls 16-to-18
division with an 83. Brubaker was steady with only two scores higher than bogey
on her card.
Skye Mada was the runnerup in the division with a 90 that
featured a birdie on the seventh hole.
Nina Harris of Furlong was the lone entry in the 13-to-15
division and turned in a solid 90 that was highlighted by a pair of birdies.
Lawson Leeper of York and Davis Conaway of West Chester have
been playing great golf in the coed 12-and-under division ever since the Junior
Tour resumed play in early June following the coronavirus-enforced layoff and
they were at it again at Northampton Valley.
Leeper birdied the ninth hole and Conaway had six pars as
each carded a 4-over 39 to share the top spot on the leaderboard for the
nine-holers.
James Mack of Delaware Water Gap had three pars as he
finished alone in third place with a 43. Ravi Khanna of Bryn Mawr’s Team Khanna
took fourth place with a 45 and Benjamin Robbins of Holland was fifth with a
48.
Nicholas Fargnoli of Mickelton, N.J. took sixth place with a
50, Lucas Zhang of Yardley was seventh with a 52 and Jesse Shurman of Villanova
rounded out the field of nine-holers, finishing eighth with a 58.
