Alexander McCauley of Maple Glen made it two straight wins in the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour’s Rehoboth Junior Open Monday with a solid 4-over-par 76 at Rehoboth Country Club that gave him the top spot in the 16-to-18 division.
McCauley made a birdie on the 12th hole and had 12 pars on his scorecard, including a string of six straight pars from the fifth through the 10th holes, in the successful defense of his title.
Central Dauphin junior Joey Sembrot, a PIAA Class AAA qualifier last fall, claimed runnerup honors as he finished three shots behind McCauley with a 79 that featured 12 pars, seven of them on the outgoing nine at Rehoboth.
Jimmy Campbell of Wilmington, Del. and Noah Wallace of Elkton, Md. shared third place, each landing on 80. Campbell made birdies at the eighth and 18th holes and had seven pars on his scorecard. Wallace made birdies at the ninth and 14th holes and had nine pars on his card.
Evan Gebhart of Magnolia, Del. took fifth place with an 81, Eamon Cochran of Newtown Square was sixth with an 82, Ryan Thomas of Shrewsbury was seventh with an 86 and Ethan Mercer of Lewes, Del. was eighth with an 88.
Brandon Esposito of Avondale ended up ninth place with an 89 and Kendell Gordon of Burlington Township, N.J. rounded out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division as he finished alone in 10th place with a 90.
Rudy Mench of Wilmington, Del. had nine pars on his scorecard on his way to an 85 that left him atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division.
Benjamin Mayer of Garnet Valley and Jake Hollerback of Millsboro, Del. shared runnerup honors as they finished a shot behind Mench, each signing for an 86. Mayer made a birdie on the fifth hole and had six pars on his card and Hollerback made a birdie on the second hole and had five pars on his card.
Christopher Mark Parrish of Woolwich Township, N.J. took fourth place with an 87, Wyatt Cudmore of Elkton, Md. was fifth with an 88, Declan Conner of Swarthmore was sixth with a 91 and Nick Belgrade of Wilmington, Del. was seventh with a 92.
Jack Okonowicz of Middletown, Del. ended up in eighth place with a 96 and Drake Brogan of Ocean View, N.J. and Zack Sullivan of Lincoln University rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as they finished in a tie for ninth place, each signing for a 99.
Amanda Schuebel made a birdie on the sixth hole and recorded six pars as she claimed a victory in the girls 16-to-18 division with an 87.
Geneva Merino of York earned runnerup honors with a 95 that featured four pars. Margaret Shannon of Downingtown rounded out the field of older girls as she finished in third place with a 107.
Kylie Yiengst of Wyoming, Del. made a birdie on the 11th hole and had seven pars on her scorecard as she finished atop a very contentious leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division with a 90.
Krista Brosius of Magnolia, Del. had five pars as she finished a shot behind Yiengst in second place with a 91. Giulia Weisser of Reading made a birdie on the 15th hole and had four pars on her card as she was another shot behind Brosius in third place with a 92.
Kyla Quimby of West Lawn and Maia Alinskas of Millsboro, Del. finished in a tie for fourth place, each landing on 103. Julia Hashem of Coatesville rounded out the 13-to-15 division field as she finished in fifth place with a 119.
Ian Rotto of Kennett Square opened with a birdie at the first hole and had six pars on his scorecard as he bested the field of nine-holers with a 1-over 37 for his sixth win of the season.
Quinten Joiner of Millington, Md. made back-to-back birdies at the sixth and seventh holes and had three pars on his card as he finished in second place, two shots behind Rotto with a 3-over 39.
Ruben Yoon of Magnolia, Del. and Judd Fletcher of Moorestown, N.J. finished in a tie for third place, each signing for a 40. Yoon had seven pars on his scorecard, including five straight to close out his round. Fletcher made a birdie at the fifth hole and had four pars on his card.
Callen Edmonston of Thurmont, Md. and Chloe Donohue of Moorestown, N.J. shared fifth place, each registering a 43.
David Padgett of Barnegat, N.J. took seventh place with a 44, Ben Meixell of Wilmington, Del. was eighth with a 45 and Sammie Metz was ninth with a 48.
Cian Mahoney of Middletown, Del. rounded out the coed 12-and-under field, finishing alone in 10th place with a 49.
