Andrew Ekstrom of York seemed to enjoy the decent golf weather that broke out Saturday as he carded a solid 4-over-par 75 to claim the top spot in the 13-to-15 division of a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Centerton Golf Club in Pittsgrove, N.J.
Ekstrom made birdies on the fourth and 11th holes and had 11 pars on his scorecard as he posted the best score among boys in either age group by five shots.
Davis Fairbanks of Swarthmore was the runnerup among the younger guys as he made a birdie on the 10th hole and had nine pars on his card while registering an 81, finishing six shots behind Ekstrom.
Michael Liu of Garnet Valley had a steady round, making 11 pars as finished a shot behind Fairbanks in third place with an 82.
Paul Reilly of West Creek, N.J. took fourth place with an 87, Collin Schreiber of Kunkletown was fifth with an 88 and Jacob Reibstein of Huntingdon Valley and Jin Sun of Princeton, N.J. finished in a tie for sixth, each signing for a 92.
Trey Barkman of West Chester finished in eighth place with a 97, Jackson Bodony of Stafford Township, N.J. was ninth with a 104 and Vyom Shukla of Berwyn rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he was alone in 10th place with a 106.
The second lowest score of the day among the guys belonged to Joseph Fargnoli of Mickleton, N.J. as he finished atop the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division with an 80 that featured a birdie on the eighth hole and eight pars.
Jack Chodkowski of Bryn Mawr made a birdie on the 10th hole and had six pars on his scorecard on his way to an 84 that earned him runnerup honors among the older guys, four shots behind Fargnoli.
Danny DiLella of Wayne birdied the 15th hole and had five pars on his card as he finished in third place with an 87. Matthew Frizzola of Glen Mills rounded out the 16-to-18 field as he finished alone in fourth place with a 96.
Only two girls made the trip to Centerton, both competing in the 13-to-15 division.
Katherine Liu of Moorestown, N.J. had seven pars, five of them in a solid-back nine 40, as she captured top honors with an 85.
Reagan Falconi of Pennington, N.J. made a par on the 15th hole on her way to a 97 as she rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division with a runnerup finish.
Dane Mohap of Nazareth bested the field of nine-holers with a 2-over 37 that featured a birdie at the sixth hole and five pars.
Chloe Donohue of Moorestown, N.J. had four pars on her way to runnerup honors with a 44.
Nicholas Fargnoli of Team Fargnoli of Mickleton, N.J. and Anthony Beach of Westville, N.J. each made a par on the second hole as they shared third place, each posting a 52.
Evan Hahn of Berlin, N.J. took fifth place with a 54, Scott Campbell of Bel Air, Md. was sixth with a 56 and Emma DiPatri of Franklinville, N.J. rounded out the coed 12-and-under field as she finished seventh with a 57.
