Joseph Sembrot of Harrisburg was even-par on the front nine at Rehoboth Beach Country Club Monday on his way to a 4-over-par 76 that gave him a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the 13-to-15 division in the Rehoboth Beach Junior Open in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
Sembrot birdied the sixth hole and had seven of his 12 pars on Rehoboth Beach’s outgoing nine in an even-par 36. Travis Robertson of Fort Washington was a shot behind Sembrot in second place with a 5-over 77 that featured birdies on the fourth and 14th holes. Robertson also had 11 pars, including seven in a row from the seventh through the 13th holes.
Joseph Ciconte of Wilmington, Del. was three shots behind Robertson in third place with an 80 that was highlighted by birdies at the third and fifth holes and seven pars. The two birdies on the outgoing nine helped Ciconte post a 2-over 38 on that side.
Evan Gebhart of Magnolia, Del. took fourth place with an 82, Brady Gallagher of Quakertown was fifth with an 83, Alex Nemo of Bryn Mawr was sixth with an 86 and Sean Kelly of Palmyra was seventh with an 87.
Cole Wilhelmsen of Phoenix, Md. ended up in eighth place with a 92, Dylan Henry of Ambler was ninth with a 93 and Rudy Mench of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as he finished alone in 10th place with a 94.
Alexander McCauley of Maple Glen and Brendan Meagher of Swedesboro, N.J. shared the top spot in the 16-to-18 division, each landing on 9-over 81. McCauley birdied the ninth hole and had nine pars on his scorecard while Meagher birdied the 11th hole and also had nine pars.
Jacob Brady of Newark, Del. had seven of his nine pars, including six straight from the 12th through the 17th holes, on the incoming nine at Rehoboth Beach as he finished a shot behind McCauley and Meagher in third place with an 82. Jack Wagner, another Newark, Del. entry, ended up in fourth place with an 87.
Joseph Sheeler of Phoenixville took fifth place with an 88, Thomas King of Hockessin, Del. was sixth with a 90 and Grayson Jakuc of Newtown Square was seventh with a 91.
Jackson Lucca of Philadelphia landed in eighth place with a 94 and Leo McTaggart of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the 16-to-18 field as he finished alone in ninth place with a 98.
Audrey Scheubel of King of Prussia emerged from a tight battle with Madison Salter of Walnutport with a one-shot victory in the girls 16-to-18 division with a 90. Audrey Scheubel birdied the 12th hole and had three pars. Salter birdied the 13th hole and had four pars as she earned a runnerup finish with a 91.
Suzie Ahn of Paoli made a par at the ninth hole as she registered a 94 to take third place. Rounding out the 16-to-18 field was Amanda Scheubel, another member of King of Prussia’s Team Scheubel, as she carded a 99.
Kylie Yiengst of Wyoming, Del. had seven pars on her way to a 94 that left her atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division. Geneva Merino of York made back-to-back pars on the ninth and 10th holes to earn runnerup honors with a 96.
Rounding out the 13-to-15 field was Julia Hashem of Coatesville as she had back-to-back pars on the fourth and fifth holes on her way to a 127 that left her in third place.
Quinten Joiner of Millington, Md. bested the field of nine-holers with a 3-over 39 that included birdies at the seventh and ninth holes and four pars. Ian Rotto of Kennett Square birdied the second hole and ripped off four straight pars from the fourth through the seventh holes to earn runnerup honors with a 4-over 40.
Anthony Proud of Stroudsburg and Declan Conner of Swarthmore each had five pars on his scorecard as they shared third place, each landing on 5-over 41, a shot behind Rotto.
Benjamin Mayer of Garnet Valley and Carson Jakuc, another member of Newtown Square’s Team Jakuc, finished in a tie for fifth place, each signing for a 42. Callen Edmonston of Thurmont, Md. ended up in seventh place with a 44.
Preston Minio of Lansdale finished alone in eighth place with a 48 and Jake Hollerback of Millsboro, Del. and Kyla Quimby of West Lawn rounded out the top 10 in the coed 12-and-under division as they shared ninth place, each signing for a 50.
