Waldmann claims second straight Junior Tour win with 78 at Buena Vista


   Christopher Waldmann of Malvern was the only entrant in the boys 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Saturday at Buena Vista Country Club in Buena, N.J., but his 6-over-par 78 was the best score of the day.
   Waldmann had three birdies on his scorecard over the par-72 Buena Vista layout, two on the front nine and one on the incoming nine. It was his second straight Junior Tour victory, coming on the heels of a win in last weekend’s stop at Linwood Country Club in Linwood, N.J. Waldmann also finished in a tie for second place in a Junior Tour stop at The Bucks Club last weekend.
   Brendan Meagher of Swedesboro, N.J. also had three birdies, two on the front nine and one on the incoming nine, as he carded an 84 that gave him the top spot in the 13-to-15 division.
Sachin Blake of Berwyn finished strong, coming home in 2-over 38 on the back nine, to earn runnerup honors in the division with an 86.
   Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. finished third with a 91, Luca Gherardi of Hammonton, N.J. was fourth with a 98 and Tiger Li of Newtown was fifth with a 112.
   Curstan Bunch of Wilmington, Del. finished her round with a par on the 18th hole as she carded a 95 to claim a victory in the girls 13-to-15 division.
   Emma Li of Newtown’s Team Li was the runnerup with a 98 and Brynne Mushlin of Berwyn took third place with a 121.
   Paul Reilly of West Creek, N.J. made a birdie on the fifth hole on his way to a 10-over 46 that bested the field of nine-holers.
   Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, N.J. and Davis Conaway of West Chester finished in a tie for second place, each posting a 48.
   Anthony Primo of Marlton, N.J. took fourth place with a 59, Michael Liu of Garnet Valley was fifth with a 61 and Sophia Enriquez of York was sixth with a 72.
