Clark's steady 75 earns him a Junior Tour victory at Deerfield


   Drew Clark of Kennett Square had a steady round that featured 13 pars as he posted a 5-over-par 75 to claim a victory in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Sunday at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Del.
   Clark was seven shots clear of runnerup Kristof Kopecky of Garnet Valley, who posted an 82 over the 6,307-yard, par-70 Deerfield layout. Jesse Shue of Columbia finished in third place with an 89.
Matthew Pulcinetta of Chadds Ford finished in fourth place with a 91, Julien de Brechard made the road trip from Brooklyn to take fifth place with a 92 and a couple of West Chester entries, Samuel Feeney and Josh Baker, were sixth and seventh with respective scores of 95 and 98.
   Christopher Waldmann of Malvern made it a weekend sweep in the 16-to-18 division, adding a win at Deerfield to an unopposed victory Saturday at Buena Vista Country Club. Waldmann birdied the ninth hole on his way to a solid 7-over 77 to claim the victory at Deerfield. The victory extended Waldmann’s Junior Tour win streak to three straight.
   Evan Barbin, the youngest of the golfing Barbins of Elkton, Md., had two birdies on the back nine at Deerfield to take runnerup honors with an 81. West Chester Rustin sophomore Eric Miller and Ryan Dolan of Newark, Del. finished in a tie for third place, each posting an 86.
   Unionville senior Will Hage ad Danny McCall of Bear, Del. shared fifth place, each carding a 90. Tyler Peters of Berlin, N.J. took seventh place with a 92, Nathan Longo of Newark, Del. was eighth with a 97 and David Pic of Wilmington, Del was ninth with a 114.
   The best score among the girls also emerged from the younger 13-to-15 division as Elle Overly of Lititz made a par on the 10th hole on her way to an 87 that gave her top honors. Curstan Bunch of Wilmington, Del. was the runnerup with a 95.
   Erica Honadel of Bel Air, Md. took third place with 96, Lilly Press of Bryn Mawr was fourth with a 98 and Josephine Wellons of Montchanin, Del. was fifth with a 102.
   Baldwin freshman Megan Adelman made back-to-back pars to close out her front nine on her way to a 90 that gave her the top spot in the 16-to-18 division. Adelman finished seventh in the Inter-Ac League Championship at French Creek Golf Club to wrap up her eighth-grade season at Baldwin last spring.
   Angel Howard of Smyrna, Del. was the runnerup with a 115.
   Jax Puskar of Kennett Square made a par on the fifth hole as he carded a 10-over 45 to best the field of nine-holers. A.J. Molnar of Jamison was the runnerup with a 47.
   Lawson Leeper of York and Declan Conner of Swarthmore shared third place, each posting a 48, and Reagan McGruther of Downingtown and Nicholas Gatti of West Chester were tied for fifth place, each carding a 58.
   Max Myers of Furlong and Reagan Gurnsey of Dover, Del. ended up in a tie for seventh place, each signing for a 59. Daniel Adibi of Haverford took ninth place and Kemble Wellons, a member of Team Wellons of Montchanin, Del., rounded out the top 10, finishing alone in 10th place with a 65.
