Rhianna Gooneratne, one of the rising young talents among
the girls who tee it up on the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour, carded a
2-over-par 74 Wednesday to capture top honors in the 13-to-15 division at
Medford Village Country Club in Medford, N.J.
Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting had 13 pars along with a
birdie on the fourth hole over a Medford Village layout that measures 5,968
yards and plays to a par of 72 for the girls.
Curstan Bunch of Wilmington, Del. was the runnerup with a
91, Hannah Puc of Marlton, N.J. was third with a 103 and Kyleigh Kilpatrick of
Philadelphia was fourth with a 140.
Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. had a birdie at the 12th
hole on her way to an 85 that gave her a victory in the 16-to-18 division.
Marple Newtown senior Gilyoung Koh was the runnerup with a
95 and Zoe Sousa of Millstone, N.J. was third with a 109.
Logan Hay of Bordentown, N.J. had strings of three straight
pars twice during his round as he topped the boys 16-to-18 division with an
8-over 80 over a Medford Village layout that played 6,508 yards for the guys.
Christopher Waldmann of Malvern had five straight pars on
the front nine on his way to an 82 that gave him runnerup honors. Carl Michael
Lim of Franklinville, N.J. finished third with an 85 that featured a birdie at
the fifth hole.
Colton Murray of Sewell, N.J. finished fourth with an 87,
Bobby Johnson of Mullica Hill, N.J. and Matthew Van Istendal of Haddon Heights,
N.J. shared fifth place, each carding an 88, and Robert Dominy of Moorestown,
N.J. was seventh with a 96.
Yili Wang of Zhejiang Province, China had two birdies, one
on each nine, to card a 9-over 81 that gave him the top spot in the 13-to-15
division as he continues to give the Junior Tour an international flavor.
Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. had four birdies, two on each
side, as he claimed runnerup honors with an 83. Nathan Guertler of
Merchantville, N.J. birdied the 17th hole as he finished third with
an 86.
Tommy Marshall of Marlton, N.J., moving up from the
12-and-under nine-holers, finished fourth with an 88, Riley Palomata of
Westampton, N.J. was fifth with a 91 and Ayden Rinaldi of Berlin, N.J. was
sixth with a 97.
Luca Gherardi of Hammonton, N.J. took seventh with a 101 and
Joseph Mancini of Philadelphia was eighth with a 118.
Ethan Legarda of Voorhees, N.J. bested the field of
nine-holers with an 11-over 47 that featured a par on the fifth hole. Paul
Reilly of West Creek, N.J. was the runnerup with a 48 and Savannah Thompson of
Seaville, N.J. was third with a 53.
