Tyler Kipp of Reading matched par with a 72 to capture the
victory in the 16-to-18 division as the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour
finished off a weekend State College Series at Penn State’s Blue Course Sunday.
A late-day thunderstorm forced the two girls divisions off
the golf course, but they got most of their rounds in before the weather hit.
Kipp had a pair of birdies and parred his last six holes to
hold off Carl Ernst of Mickleton, N.J. with his even-par 72 over the
6,473-yard, par-72 Blue Course layout. Ernst kept the heat on as he went
1-under for his final holes, making birdies on three of his last four holes to

helped the Fords claim the Inter-Ac League title last fall, with a 3-under 69
in Saturday’s stop at Penn State’s White Course.
Combined with his 74 Sunday, that gave Pabst the State
College Series title with a 143 total. Earlier in the week, Pabst finished just
short of a 3-for-1 playoff in a local U.S. Open qualifier administered by the

was suspended Monday and had to be completed Tuesday.
