Isabella McCloskey of Princeton Junction, N.J. put together
a solid 87 to win the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior
Tour stop at Bala Golf Club Sunday.
The Junior Tour players had to get the rain gear out as the
weather turned wet and chilly, but pars at the first and second holes got
McCloskey going over the 5,118-yard, par-68 layout, one of two private clubs
inside Philadelphia’s city limits.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy sophomore Emma Schotsch was
the runnerup with a 95, Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. took third with a 97
and Callie Jean Burns of Wynnewood was fourth with a 98.
Nora Blatney of Wyndmor had pars on the second, sixth and 16th
holes on her way to a 103 that gave her the top spot in in the 13-to-15
division.
Dakota Baker of Philadelphia finished second with a 107 and
Lilly Press of Bryn Mawr was third with a 116.
Rajann Khanna of Bryn Mawr won a scorecard playoff to best
the field of nine-holers after finishing in a tie for first with Jax Puskar of
Kennett Square at 10-over 43.
Khanna’s total of 29 on the final six holes gave him the
tiebreaker edge. Khanna’s round featured pars at the third and ninth holes.
Mason Tucker of York was a shot behind the top two in third with a 44.
Samuel Feeney of West Chester and Ethan Niu of Gladwyne
finished in a tie for fourth, each posting a 45, and J.D. Hoban of Havertown
and Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. shared sixth place, each carding a 46.
Three players – Hank Kancher of Philadelphia, Owen Tilsner
of Warminster ad Ethan Martin of North Wales – rounded out the top 10 as each
signed for a 47 to finish tied for eighth.
Rhianna Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting and Kayley Roberts of
Phoenixville finished tied for 11th, each posting a 48.
