Kennedy earns Junior Tour victory at Union League National with 77


   Malvern Prep junior Ryan Kennedy carded a 6-over-par 77 to capture the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at the tough Union League National course in Swainton, N.J.
   On a beautiful day for golf at the Jersey Shore, Kennedy birdied the eighth hole in a solid 1-over 37 on the front nine at the 6,344-yard, par-72 Union League National layout. Spring-Ford sophomore Luke Watson was the runnerup with a 7-over 79.
   Three Jersey guys, Tyler Geatens of Williamstown, P.J. Schulte of Cape May Court House and James Dalzell of Linwood, shared third place, each posting an 83. Radnor High senior Blake Stephano finished alone in sixth with an 84 and Zachary Loninger of Crosswicks, N.J., coming off a victory in a Junior Tour stop at Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown, Del. Saturday, placed seventh with an 86.
   Sean Caspar, another Williamstown, N.J. entry, and Travis Dix of Howell, N.J. finished in a tie for eighth, each signing for an 87, and Colton Murray of Sewell, N.J. rounded out the top 10, ending up alone in 10th with an 88.
   Keller Mulhern of Exton matched Kennedy’s 5-over 77 to take the top spot in the 13-to-15 division. Mulhern made birdies at two, eight, 11 and 12 to finish a shot ahead of Jack Ross of Medford Lakes, N.J., whose 78 was the second-best round of the day in either age group.
   Radnor High freshman Chase Stephano of Radnor’s Team Stephano and Nicholas Ciocca of Devon finished in a tie for third, each posting an 82. Dimitri Collins of King of Prussia finished fifth with an 89, Adam McMillan of Cranbury, N.J. was sixth with a 90 and Joseph Fargnoli of Mickelton, N.J. was seventh with a 92.
   Ryan Dolan of Newark, Del. and Riley Mostecki of Linwood, N.J. shared eighth place, each posting a 93 and Matthew Van Istendal of Haddon Heights, N.J. rounded out the top 10 by finishing alone in 10th with a 95.
   Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. pulled out a one-shot victory over Isabella McCloskey of Princeton Junction, N.J. to capture the top spot in the girls 16-to-18 division. Strigh had four straight pars at 11, 12, 13 and 14 on her way to an 87 while McCloskey carded an 88.
   Heather Styslinger of Valley Forge finished third with a 113.
   Churchville’s Team Barnett accounted for the top two spots in the 13-to-15 division with Chaela Barnett posting the best round of the day among the girls with an 81 to finish atop the division. Chaelea Barnett had six pars in a solid 3-over 39 on the front nine. Lola Barnett was the runnerup with a 94.
   Isabella Freund of Ocean View, N.J. finished third with a 120 and Kiley Alt of Washington Crossing was fourth with a 133.
   Hunter Probst of Bear Creek made it a weekend sweep of the nine-holers with an even-par 36 that featured birdies at one, two and six. Probst was the winner among the nine-holers in Saturday’s Junior Tour stop at Frog Hollow.
   J.P. Hoban of Havertown was the runnerup with a 4-over 40 and Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. took third with a 42.
   Ethan Martin of North Wales finished fourth with a 44, Sean Curran of Newtown Square was fifth with a 45 and Sean Reilly of West Creek, N.J. was sixth with a 46.
   Tommy Marshall of Marlton, N.J. and Jamie Ciesielka of Woolwich Township, N.J. finished tied for seventh, each carding a 51 and Joseph Mancini of  Philadelphia was ninth with a 61.
