Andrew Gallagher of Mount Laurel, N.J. was as hot as the
summer weather during a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Riverton
Country Club in Cinnaminson, N.J. Monday.
Gallagher birdied the first hole at the 6,481-yard, par-71
Riverton layout and then added four more birdies in a sizzling 4-under 67 that
gave him a victory in the 16-to-18 division. Akhil Giri of Moorestown, N.J. was
the runnerup with a 2-over 73.
Connor Bekefi of Toms River, N.J. took third with a 75,
Matthew Thomas of Mount Laurel, N.J. placed fourth with a 76 and Johnny Hernick
of Moorestown, N.J., Nathaniel Hiriak of Doylestown and Drew Steinmetz of
Gilbertsville shared fifth place, each carding a 79.
Jordan Torres of Medford, N.J. and Maxwell Rubin of Marlton,
N.J. finished in a tie for eighth at 81 and Ian Bucci rounded out the top 10,
finishing alone in 10th with an 82.
Franklin Zau of Warren, N.J. took top honors in the 13-to-15
division with a 4-over 75 that featured back-to-back birdies at the seventh and
eighth holes. Justin Dougherty of Wyndmoor was the runnerup with a 76.
Matthew Hanzel of Sewell, N.J., Tyler Boucher of
Haddonfield, N.J. and Calen Sanderson of Skillman, N.J. finished in a tie for
third, each posting a 77.
Jack Irons of Naples, Fla. took sixth with a 78, Dylan
Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting placed seventh with an 80, Hayden Greer of
Moorestown, N.J. finished eighth with an 81, Kevin Motil of Sewell, N.J. was
ninth with an 82 and Jake Maddaloni of Newtown Square rounded out the top 10,
finishing alone in 10th with an 84.
Morgan Kodluk of Philadelphia won the girls 16-to-18
division with an 89 that was highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 16th.
Yoojin Chun of Old Tappan, N.J. was the runnerup with a 104.
Taylor Oberparleiter of Laurel Springs, N.J. captured top
honors in the 13-to-15 division with an 86. She birdied the par-5 17th
and has won both of her starts in the new wraparound Junior Tour season.
Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. was the runnerup with an
88. Cecilia Priolo of Ambler finished third with a 104 and Caitlyn Hagerty of
Glen Mills was fourth with a 108.
Jack Dare of Moorestown, N.J. bested the field of nine-holers with a 5-over
42 on his home course. He finished the round by getting up and down for par.
Ryan Garvey of Media was the runnerup with a 43.
Darren Nolan of Glenside finished third with a 44, Brooke
Oberparleiter of Laurel Springs, N.J. and Nathan Guertler of Merchantville,
N.J. shared fourth place, each carding a 46 and Chase Cristella of Mount
Laurel, N.J. took sixth with a 47.
Wallingford’s Hurchallas, Charlie and Matthew, finished
seventh and eighth with respective scores of 50 and 51. Marlin Toney Jr. of Vineland,
N.J. was ninth with a 52 and Luca Gherardi of Hammonton, N.J. rounded out the
top 10, finishing alone in 10th place with a 53.
