Notre Dame sophomore Brianna Marmorstein continued her hot
streak on the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour by taking top honors in the
13-to-15 division in a stop at the Donald Ross-designed Jeffersonville Golf
Club Thursday.
Coming off a win in a Junior Tour stop at Avalon Golf Club
last week, Marmorstein, a Havertown resident, carded an 86 over the 5,432-yard,
par-71 Jeffersonville layout to edge Casey Oppenheimer of Conshohocken and
Caitlin Mahon of Blue Bell by a shot.
Radnor junior Michael Sydnes, who has been pretty hot on the
Junior Tour of late himself, fired a 5-over 75 over a Jeffersonsville layout
that measured 6,294 for the guys, to finish a shot back of 16-to-18 division winner
Ron Robinson Jr. of Hatfield.
Also in the division, Marple Newtown senior Matt Deacon
finished in a tie for eighth with an 81, Jack Hirsh of Villanova finished in a
tie for 13th with an 84, Jake Stein of Villanova finished tied for
25th with a 90 and Daniel Bullock of Wayne was 27th with
a 92.
D.J. Colleran of Radnor and Michael Barkann of Newtown
Square led a strong Delco contingent in the 13-to-15 division as they both
posted 79s and were among three players tied for third. Joseph Centeno of
Flourtown won the division with a 75.
Blake Stephano of Radnor
finished sixth with an 80, John Sudjian of Media finished in a tie for
16th with an 89 and James Quinn of Radnor finished in a tie for 22nd
with a 96.
Among the nine-holers, a younger Stephano, Chase, finished
third with a 47 and Anthony Ferretti of Aston finished ninth with a 66. Darren
Nolan of Glenside won the division with a 42.
Theresa Luu of Mullica Hill, N.J. had the 16-to-18 girls
field all to herself and shot 95.
Not exactly sure what became of a Junior Tour Pocono Series,
but I did get results from Monday’s stop at Huntsville Golf Club in Dallas and
Davis Flannery of Radnor had a solid 81 to finish in a tie for second in the
13-to-15 division. Caleb Ryan of Norristown won the division with a 77.
Other winners at Huntsville were Harleysville’s Nicholas Scott,
who took the 16-to-18 division with an 81, Bloomsburg’s Morgan Sohosky, who had
the 13-to-15 girls division to herself and shot 99, and Roaring Brook Township’s
William Pabst, who bested the nine-holers with a 37.
It was a girls-only day Friday at Bensalem Township Country
Club and Lauren Muhlbauer of Newtown won the push cart, courtesy of Bag Boy, that
went to the girl with the best overall score of the day as she fired a
sparkling 3-over 73. That gave her top honors in the 16-to-18 division.
Muhlbauer’s round featured four birdies.
Oppenheimer of Conshohocken, the runnerup to Marmorstein at
Jeffersonville a day earlier, won the 13-to-15 division with a 91. Lauren
Butscher of Wallingford finished sixth with a 101.
