Eoin Regan, who wrapped up his scholastic career at North Penn this fall, carded a solid 2-over-par 72 at the Ed Oliver Golf Club in Wilmington, Del. to claim a victory in the 16-to-18 division as the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour finished up its 2025 schedule on a seasonable November Sunday.
Regan made birdies on the sixth and 15th holes and had 12 pars on his scorecard, including a string of four straight pars from 11 through the 14, over the par-70 Ed Oliver layout, named for Wilmington native Ed “Porky” Oliver, who was a runnerup in the U.S. Open, the PGA and the Masters during a solid PGA Tour career.
K.J. DeSantis, a junior on the West Chester Rustin golf team, made a birdie on the sixth hole and had nine pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with an 8-over 78.
Logan Hyndman of Newtown made a birdie on the 12th hole and had eight pars on his card as he finished in third place with an 82.
David Dempsey of Franklinville, N.J. took fourth place with an 85, Colin Burke of Wilmington, Del. was fifth with an 85, James Henry, another Wilmington, Del. guy – a bunch of Wilmington kids took advantage of the proximity of Porky Oliver’s to tee it up in this season-ending Philly Junior Tour stop – was sixth with an 86 and Van Miller of Lititz finished seventh with an 87.
Brayden Holland, a junior on the golf team at The Haverford School, took eighth place with an 89, Ramsey Harris of Haddonfield, N.J. was ninth with a 92 and Matthew Hoopes, another Wilmington, Del. entry, rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he finished 10th with a 97.
Another Wilmington, Del. guy, Robert Rittereiser, got hot on the outgoing nine at Porky Oliver’s as he finished at the top of the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division with a 7-over 77.
Rittereiser ripped off birdies at the third, fourth and sixth holes, added another birdie at 16 and had six pars on his scorecard. Rittereiser toured the front nine at Porky Oliver’s in even-par 36.
Jack Burke of Bryn Mawr made back-to-back birdies at the 15th and 16th holes and had seven pars on his card as he finished two shots behind Rittereiser in second place with a 79.
Brayden Hughes of Hockessin, Del. made a birdie on the sixth hole and had eight pars on his card as he finished in third place with an 81.
Bryce Moyer of Bryn Mawr took fourth place with an 83, Owen Fanning of Gap was fifth with an 84, Luca Malizia of Chadds Ford was sixth with a 91 and Sean Jaworski of Medford, N.J. finished seventh with a 93.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division was a trio tied for eighth place at 94 that included a pair of Wilmington, Del. guys, Charlie Sears, moving up from the 12-and-under nine-holers, and Matthew Pilcher, and Shea Henefer of Moorestown, N.J.
The best score among the girls emerged from the 13-to-15 division as Hailey Cousins of Port Republic, N.J. had eight pars on her scoreboard, including a run of four pars in a row from the third through the sixth holes, to earn a Philly Junior Tour victory with an 84.
Hannah LeGrow of Wilmington, Del. had four pars on her card, rattling off three pars in a row at the 11th, 12th and 13th holes, as she earned runnerup honors with a 97.
Elyssa Capaldo of Trooper made a birdie at the 11th hole and had four pars on her card as she finished in third place with a 99.
Finley Campbell of West Chester rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as she finished in fourth place with a 116.
Brooke Burge of Middletown, Del. was the lone entrant in the 16-to-18 division and she made birdies at the fourth and eighth holes and had four pars on her scorecard on her way to an 89.
The always competitive boys 12-and-under nine-holers featured a standout performance from Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg as he made birdies at the fourth, sixth and eighth holes and had five pars on his scorecard while besting the field with a sparkling 2-under 34.
Helmut Dang of Newtown Square, who frequently appeared at or near the top of the leaderboard in the boys 12-and-under division, made birdies at the fourth and sixth holes as he settled for runnerup honors with an even-par 36.
Jack Gilbert of Bryn Mawr, coming off a tie for second place in a Philly Junior Tour stop at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort a day earlier, made a birdie on the eighth hole and had six pars on his card as he finished in third place, a shot behind Dang with a 1-over 37.
James Wilson of Wilmington, Del. took fourth place with a 4-over 40, Luke George of Mullica Hill, N.J. was fifth with a 41 and Grayson Wright of Philadelphia was sixth with a 42.
Damien Dollard of Cinnaminson, N.J., another player who, like Dang, always seemed to be in contention among the younger guys, shared seventh place with Aidan Treshaj of Ambler and Carter Bove of Kennett Square, each signing for a 43.
Rounding out the top 10 in the boys 12-and-under division was a trio of players tied for 10th place at 44, a group that included Thayer Boyd, another Kennett Square guy, Samuel Karas of Blue Bell and Victor Wang of Hockessin, Del.
There were just so many guys playing some really good golf at a young age in the 12-and-under division this year. Pretty sure you’re going to be hearing from a lot of them for years to come, certainly at the high school level and likely beyond.
Aashi Chakraborty of Kennett Square made a par on the seventh hole to best the field of girls 12-and-under nine-holers with a 50.
Avery Jaffe of Richboro was the runnerup in a short field in the girls 12-and-under division as she finished in second place with a 58.
